Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Luc Gagnon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Parker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gagnon comes to the cage accompanied by Annihilator - King of the Kill. Luc Gagnon could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Alex Parker's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Luc Gagnon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Alex Parker! The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Taro Takaoka and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Parker slips a straight right by Gagnon. Gagnon closes the distance and pushes Parker back into the cage. Gagnon tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Gagnon is trying to drag Parker to the mat but Parker just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Parker misses with a short punch on the inside. Gagnon decides to pull guard. Gagnon on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Gagnon tries to get out of the position. Parker controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Gagnon working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Parker doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Parker manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Gagnon working for a triangle but Parker defends it easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gagnon escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Parker gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gagnon looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Parker has picked Gagnon up and slammed him! Gagnon can't keep hold of the triangle and Parker manages to pass to side control! Parker controlling from side mount. Gagnon struggling a bit here. Parker controlling the position from side mount. Gagnon tries to bench press Parker off him but Parker keeps the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Parker moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Parker wants to lay and pray for a moment but Gagnon keeps working. Gagnon is trying to improve his position. Gagnon is working hard here to advance position. Parker remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Gagnon wants to control but Parker postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gagnon is not content to let Parker control the position. Gagnon sneaks back into half guard. Parker is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Parker is continuing to stall. Gagnon trying to control but Parker postures up.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. A looping hook to the body misses from Parker. Gagnon does a little dance to reset his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Donk. Parker catches Gagnon right on the button with a cross.
It looks like Luc Gagnon has been cut. Parker swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Parker scores with a nice right hand.
Parker tries to keep at a distance but Gagnon has taken the fight into the clinch. Parker throws a punch but it's blocked by Gagnon. Gagnon tries to pull guard but Parker won't allow it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Luc Gagnon. That's going to take a lot out of him. Gagnon tries to score a body lock takedown but Parker shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Parker stops a takedown attempt from Gagnon.
Parker throws a head punch that misses. Gagnon tries a body shot but Parker blocks it.
Gagnon scores with an uppercut up the middle. Gagnon is struggling to control the position. Parker lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Gagnon backwards. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Gagnon fails to pull guard.
I was talking to Gagnon's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Parker misses with a punch to the body.
Parker scores with a nice hook to the head. Gagnon tries to pull guard but Parker won't allow it.
Gagnon can't find room to land a body shot as Parker controls the action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Alex Parker dominated that round. The cut man is working on Luc Gagnon's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Parker misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Gagnon tries to close the distance and clinch but Parker swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Gagnon throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Parker has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Parker with a body punch. A glancing blow. Gagnon takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Gagnon drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Parker tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck. Gagnon is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Parker is surviving well by controlling Gagnon's body position as best he can. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Parker regains half guard. Parker wants to control but Gagnon is keeping busy and won't allow it. Gagnon is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Parker is just riding it out for now. Gagnon eventually gives up the hold. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Parker makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Parker.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gagnon tries to free his leg and advance position but Parker is retaining full guard. Parker is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Gagnon trying to control the position from guard on top but Parker is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Parker trying to control the position.
Gagnon passes Parker's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Gagnon is trying to control the action in half guard but Parker is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Parker gets full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Gagnon pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Parker is keeping the position for now. Gagnon wants to control from the top but Parker keeps moving. Parker is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Parker has Gagnon pulled in close to control his posture. Gagnon has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Parker keeping moving, preventing Gagnon from controlling successfully. Gagnon stopping the sweep attempt from Parker. Gagnon wants to pass the guard but Parker is keeping the position. Parker is controlling Gagnon's posture.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gagnon with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Parker to score with a decent uppercut. Gagnon has closed the distance and engaged Parker in a clinch.
Gagnon tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Parker smiles and moves away.
Alex Parker is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Gagnon tries to clinch but Parker moves out of range. Parker lands with an uppercut that bounces Gagnon off the cage and back into range. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Gagnon moves into the clinch. Gagnon tries for a takedown but Parker manages to get underhooks.
Gagnon taking a breather. Parker lands a body shot. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Parker pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Gagnon misses with a wild body shot. Gagnon takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Luc Gagnon's cut is getting worse. Gagnon gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Parker gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Gagnon is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:48 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Alex Parker!
