Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Jacobi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Siggy Duncan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Johnny Jacobi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Siggy Duncan!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Chris Dean and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jacobi looks for a takedown but Duncan sprawls well.
Duncan tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Jacobi throws a lazy uppercut

and Duncan counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Duncan.
Duncan lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Duncan engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jacobi trying to keep a closed guard but Duncan is proving a slippery customer.
Duncan stays in close to Jacobi's body and controls the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jacobi working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Duncan doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Duncan manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Duncan accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Duncan got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jacobi has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Duncan has managed to get both his arms back between Jacobi's legs - danger averted.

Jacobi has his foot on Duncan's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Duncan works his way back into a safe position though.
Duncan lands a couple of digs.

Duncan throws a strike but Jacobi rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Jacobi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Duncan swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Duncan looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Duncan is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Duncan wants to sweep but no luck.
Duncan is trying to control the position but Jacobi postures up.
Duncan wants to get back to his feet but Jacobi is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Duncan manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jacobi manages to get himself to full guard.

Jacobi is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Zen Balance Monastery that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.
Duncan makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Duncan postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Duncan looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Jacobi with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Duncan is nestled in close to Jacobi, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Duncan seems to be looking for submissions.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Nice strikes from Duncan there.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Duncan is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Duncan connects with a nice short shot to Jacobi's temple.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Jacobi misses with an uppercut. Duncan saw that one coming.
Duncan leaves Jacobi with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Jacobi shoots in looking for a takedown but Duncan manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Jacobi's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Duncan scores with a decent looking hook.

Duncan lands a nice shot that snaps Jacobi's head back.

Siggy Duncan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Jacobi throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Jacobi had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Duncan defends it easily.
Jacobi has momentary wrist control but Duncan slips an elbow through the middle.
Siggy Duncan is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Duncan's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Duncan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jacobi. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Jacobi throws an overhand right that lands on Duncan's shoulder, as Duncan tries to avoid the shot.
Duncan throws out a counter right but Jacobi avoids it with no problem.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Duncan!

Duncan rushes Jacobi and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Jacobi can't break the clinch.
Nice body punch from Duncan.
A frustrated look appears on Jacobi's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Jacobi is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Duncan gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Duncan lands an elbow inside.

And that's the end of the fight!
Siggy Duncan comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Duncan has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
