Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Klaus Rasmussen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Juan Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Santos. Santos looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Rasmussen tries to clinch there but Santos circles away.
Rasmussen tries to close the distance and clinch but Santos swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Rasmussen is looking to clinch. Santos has a takedown stuffed. Klaus Rasmussen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rasmussen doesn't succeed with the takedown and Santos counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Rasmussen! Santos takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Santos avoids the attempt from Rasmussen to control. Rasmussen is wriggling around trying to escape.

That's one minute gone in the round. Santos wants to control the pace but Rasmussen is squirming around nicely. Rasmussen tries to hold on but Santos postures up. Rasmussen wants to get back to his feet.
Santos content just to control the position here. I looks like Santos might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Rasmussen is squirming around, avoiding Santos's attempts to control the action. Santos prevents Rasmussen from getting the reversal. Rasmussen tries to hold on but Santos postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rasmussen is in all sorts of trouble here.
Santos controlling from mount. Santos wants to control the pace but Rasmussen is squirming around nicely. Santos might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Rasmussen kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Despite being in the dominant position, Juan Santos just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Rasmussen misses with a double jab
and Santos connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Excellent takedown into side control there by Rasmussen. Rasmussen is breathing heavily. Santos gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Rasmussen is keen to just control but Santos is a slippery customer. Rasmussen is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Santos is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Santos is looking to improve his position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Santos gets full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rasmussen is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Rasmussen throws a low kick but it's checked well by Santos. Rasmussen clinches but Santos breaks the clinch and Santos counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Santos advances position into side control! Santos takes a little break here. Rasmussen wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Santos advances to full mount.

Juan Santos showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Rasmussen jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Santos walks away with a smile on his face. Rasmussen gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Santos doesn't succeed with the takedown and Rasmussen counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Rasmussen. Rasmussen ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Rasmussen no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Rasmussen wants to get back to his feet but Santos is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Santos trying to control but Rasmussen is working from the bottom. Santos gets to his feet - Rasmussen follows without any prompting.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rasmussen is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Rasmussen looks to land a combination but Santos avoids it well. Rasmussen tries for a takedown but Santos circles away easily and Santos counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Rasmussen! Santos is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Rasmussen is surviving well by controlling Santos's body position as best he can. Rasmussen tries to lock up and control but Santos gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Santos tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rasmussen is squirming around, avoiding Santos's attempts to control the action. Rasmussen tries to reverse the position but Santos maintains control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Santos is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Rasmussen in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Santos looking to control and managing it successfully.
And that's the end of the fight! Juan Santos comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Santos winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
