PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Kyoji Horiguchi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bastyn Dall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dall is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Beast. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horiguchi connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Dall smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Horiguchi misses with a wild body shot.
Horiguchi throws a jab but it's blocked by Dall.
Dall throws a half hearted mid kick.
Dall lands with an overhand left.
Horiguchi moves out of range as Dall throws a body kick.
Dall lands a glancing blow to the side of Horiguchi's head.
Dall throws a leg kick which misses Horiguchi's front leg but catches the back leg as Horiguchi tries to avoid it.
Dall misses with a body kick.
Horiguchi lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Horiguchi throws a solid leg kick but Dall takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Horiguchi.
Horiguchi pulls out of a head kick attempt.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Dall has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Horiguchi shoots in looking for a takedown but Dall manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Horiguchi's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Horiguchi sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Dall ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Horiguchi moves away.
Dall uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Horiguchi.
Horiguchi throws a chopping leg kick but Dall manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

Horiguchi looks to land a right hand but Dall moved out of range.

Dall tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Dall has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Horiguchi finds it's way round the side to connect with Dall's head.

Dall feints and then cracks Horiguchi's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Horiguchi down.

Dall now looks to counter with a shot at the body.

Nice uppercut lands for Horiguchi. That snapped Dall's head back.
Dall is looking to slow Horiguchi down with leg kicks.
Horiguchi on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Dall. Dall obviously looking to wear him down.
Dall shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Horiguchi but Horiguchi pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Dall is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Horiguchi.

and Dall counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Dall avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Horiguchi lands a lovely overhand right.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Dall pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Dall swings for the body but Horiguchi moves out of range.
Horiguchi looks to land a combination but Dall avoids it well.
Dall uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Horiguchi.

A jab from Dall finds it's way through Horiguchi's defenses.
Dall uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Horiguchi has time to react.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Horiguchi closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Dall did well to prevent Horiguchi getting side control.

Dall is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Horiguchi's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Horiguchi's back!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Well, with Dall on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Horiguchi is tapping out... Can he escape the position?
I really don't envy Horiguchi right now.

Dall is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Horiguchi knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Horiguchi for a finish.

Dall has both hooks in and is working for a choke. Horiguchi is in real trouble here. Dall gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, Horiguchi is tapping out! Dall wins by rear naked choke!
