Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
28 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sebastiaan Rutten!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
45 - 23 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gunnar Steigelmann!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rutten slips under a jab.
Rutten is looking to counter with head kicks.
Steigelmann fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Rutten manages to avoid it.
Steigelmann throws out a loose jab but Rutten uses good head movement to avoid it.
Rutten thinks about countering with a body kick.
Steigelmann connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Steigelmann drops Rutten with a right and a left! Steigelmann comes rushing in but Rutten regains his composure and manages to keep Steigelmann in guard.
It looks like Sebastiaan Rutten has been cut.
Steigelmann slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Steigelmann wants to pass the guard but Rutten is keeping the position.
Steigelmann keeps trying to improve his position.
Rutten being controlled here, momentarily.
Rutten wants to get back to his feet but Steigelmann is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
That's one minute gone in the round.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Steigelmann looking to pass the guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Steigelmann loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Steigelmann throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Rutten.
Rutten is looking to counter with head kicks.

and Steigelmann counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Rutten! He's just covering up as Steigelmann starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!
