PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Nick Miller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Randy Rhodes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rhodes has chosen Imperial March (L.O.D. Rage Mix) as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nick Miller!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Randy Rhodes!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Gwen Towbar and Wesley Smith.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rhodes throws a push kick but Miller slaps the foot to one side.

Miller fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Rhodes to the ground. Miller is now in Rhodes's guard.

Miller tries to free his leg and advance position but Rhodes is retaining full guard.

Miller drops back looking for a leg! Rhodes is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Rhodes manages to kick Miller off! Miller jumps back into Rhodes's guard.
Miller postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rhodes is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Miller would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Miller decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Rhodes, up you get!
Rhodes shoots in looking for a takedown but Miller manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Rhodes's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Miller tries to counter by clinching up but Rhodes breaks away and moves out of range.

Miller closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Miller lands in his opponent's guard.

Miller drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Miller jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Miller wants to get up but he can't break Rhodes's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Miller is pushing down on Rhodes's leg trying to pass to half guard. Rhodes is fighting to maintain full guard but Miller has managed to sneak the leg through.
Miller is pressing down on Rhodes's thigh, looking to free his foot. Rhodes is holding on for now.
Miller is working hard here to advance position.

Miller seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Rhodes does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
