Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Antonio Nogueira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Hidalgo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Chris Hidalgo! The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hidalgo throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Nogueira shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Nogueira was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Nogueira tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Possibly, maybe, no Nogueira has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Nogueira is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Hidalgo knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Hidalgo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Nogueira. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Nogueira is breathing heavily. Nogueira looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Hidalgo is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Nogueira checks a leg kick nicely. Hidalgo cracks Nogueira with a right hand to the side of the head. Nogueira closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Nogueira seems to be looking for submissions.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hidalgo can do anything to dispel that myth. Hidalgo wants to get back to his feet. Nogueira slows the pace down in half guard. Nogueira stops Hidalgo from getting back to his feet.

Nogueira fails with a takedown attempt from distance. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Hidalgo throws a right and a left that both miss. Nogueira showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Hidalgo.
Hidalgo rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Nogueira moves out of range and avoids them all easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Antonio Nogueira dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Hidalgo looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Nogueira shoots in but Hidalgo avoids the takedown attempt easily. Nogueira tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Hidalgo swivels and escapes. Nogueira fails to land the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Antonio Nogueira. That's going to take a lot out of him. No joy there for Hidalgo, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hidalgo throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Hidalgo tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Nogueira!
