Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rafael Hughes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Frank Jones looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Rafael Hughes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Frank Jones! The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Roosa Järviläinen and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hughes closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Hughes lands in his opponent's guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Hughes keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Jones's head. Jones wants to stand and escape but Hughes is having none of it. Jones working a defensive guard here.
Hughes tries to stand but Jones is controlling from the bottom. Jones wants to sweep here but Hughes controlling him for the moment. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jones connects with a solid leg kick. Jones misses with the body kick so Hughes counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Hughes really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Hughes working some strikes from top position. Hughes decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Jones, up you get! Frank Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hughes has taken the fight to the clinch.

Jones has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Hughes feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Hughes will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Hughes is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hughes stands up and waves to Jones to follow him. Hughes looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Hughes wants to work for an arm triangle but Jones is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Hughes slips a nice elbow through Jones's hands, connecting with Jones's forehead. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Hughes trying to control the pace. Hughes lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hughes is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Jones can do to turn this around? Hughes is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Jones gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Jones jumps into guard, dragging Hughes to the mat.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Hughes is working Jones over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Jones will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Jones tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Hughes wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Jones breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Excellent takedown into side control there by Hughes. Hughes working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Hughes tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Hughes has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Hughes lands a few punches from side control. Hughes stands up and we're back to a striking position. Jones loads up on a big right hand but Hughes slips the punch. Hughes clinches with his opponent.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Hughes has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Jones is trying to keep an underhook but Hughes manages to get the takedown into half guard. Hughes is nestled in close to Jones, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Hughes working the head and body with strikes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rafael Hughes dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
A momentary lapse in concentration from Jones enables Hughes to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Jones manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Hughes landing with the ground and pound. Hughes drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Hughes seems to have locked his on tight now - Jones screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Hughes, as he picks up the win!
