Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Elias Lyon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Darko Vader (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vader is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Return of Darko. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Vader clinches.
We've been hearing reports that Lyon has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Vader stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

Lyon is looking to break free of the clinch but Vader has double underhooks.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Lyon lands a nice short elbow.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Vader can do anything to dispel that myth.
Vader is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Lyon connects with a nice short shot to Vader's temple.
Lyon is just content to waste time from the top position. Vader takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Lyon takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Lyon has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Lyon lands a couple of good shots and Vader has given up his back, trying to escape the position!

Lyon lands a good shot there. Vader covers up! Lyon smells blood and goes for the finish - the referee warns Vader to improve his position but he's not intelligently defending himself and the referee has no choice but to step in and end the fight! Lyon jumps to his feet and celebrates the important win with his cornermen!
