Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jack Typhun! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Michael Alvarez! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Matheus Silva and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Alvarez stuffs the takedown. Typhun tries to score with a low kick but Alvarez moves his leg out of the way. Alvarez tries for a takedown but Typhun sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Typhun is looking to clinch. Alvarez shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Typhun counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Typhun passes Alvarez's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Alvarez is looking to improve his position.
Alvarez slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Alvarez looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

That's one minute gone in the round. Alvarez is looking for a triangle but Typhun pushes his legs off easily.
Alvarez looks gassed! Typhun chips away with some ground and pound. Typhun passes easily into side control. Nice work. Typhun tries to advance to mount but can't. Typhun trying to control the action but Alvarez is working from the bottom. Alvarez sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Alvarez makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Alvarez. Alvarez has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Typhun can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Alvarez looking to hit a scissor sweep but Typhun is one step ahead there. Alvarez keeping full guard, as Typhun tries to pass. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Typhun postures up in Alvarez's guard and throws a big left but Alvarez blocks it. Alvarez utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Alvarez bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Typhun's guard. Alvarez tries to free his leg and advance position but Typhun is retaining full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Alvarez drops back, looking for a kneebar! Typhun looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Typhun looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Typhun! Alvarez is trying to get back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Alvarez gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Typhun with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Typhun has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Alvarez tries to get to full guard but Typhun has control of the leg. Typhun looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Typhun is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Alvarez wants to improve his position but Typhun is controlling well.
Typhun tries to stand and escape but Alvarez is controlling the position. Alvarez is pressing down on Typhun's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Alvarez looking for a guillotine here but Typhun defends easily.
Alvarez manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Alvarez throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Typhun has his hands clasped together but Alvarez breaks the hold and Typhun is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Alvarez!
