Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Lima (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bayden Wood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Marcus Lima!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Bayden Wood!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Roosa Järviläinen and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lima staying out of range there.
Lima slips under a jab.
Lima avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Wood throws a hook to the side of Lima's head but Lima sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Lima looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Wood throws a quick inside leg kick.
Wood throws a left and a right that both miss
and Lima counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Wood throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Lima stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Wood looks to clinch

and Lima counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Lima not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Wood is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Lima is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Wood is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Wood has escaped and now he's on top!

Lima is trying to control the position but Wood postures up.
Wood trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wood wants to control from the top but Lima keeps moving.
Lima is pulling down on Wood's head. It's preventing any offense from Wood, at least for the moment.
Wood throws a big elbow that misses.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Lima is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Wood wants to pass the guard but Lima is keeping the position.

Lima has his foot on Wood's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Wood works his way back into a safe position though.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Wood's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Lima keeping full guard, as Wood tries to pass.
Wood is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Wood looking to sit in guard and control but Lima gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Lima trying to control the position from guard on top but Wood is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Wood wants to get back to his feet but Lima is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Lima sitting in guard here, content to control.
Wood is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Lima is controlling him.
Lima trying to control but Wood is working from the bottom.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Wood wants to stand up but Lima is controlling him.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Wood gets caught flat footed, as Lima shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Lima prevents Wood from getting back to his feet.
Lima trying to control the position from guard on top but Wood is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Lima looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Wood is trying to keep Lima in close.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Marcus Lima will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Wood rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Lima moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Bayden Wood seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wood throws a lazy uppercut

and Lima counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Lima.
Wood is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Lima is controlling him.
Lima wants to control from the top but Wood keeps moving.
Lima prevents Wood from getting back to his feet.

Wood working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lima doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lima manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lima won't allow Wood to sweep him here.
Marcus Lima overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lima slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Lima stops Wood from standing up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Wood misses with a kick to the body.
Wood displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.


It looks like Marcus Lima has been cut.
Lima takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Lima swats away the attempt to clinch by Wood.
Wood scoring well with a low kick there.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Wood rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Lima moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Wood finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Lima.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Wood is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Lima asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Wood is not content to let Lima control the position.
Lima happy to just control the position for now.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Lima is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Wood is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Wood tries to buck Lima off but Lima is having none of it.

Lima is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Wood is trying to escape and Lima transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Wood is forced to tap! Nice work there by Lima! Very nice indeed!
