Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dannie Kidd! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Donald Anderson! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Anderson misses with a kick to the body and Kidd counters with a nice double leg into side control. Anderson won't be happy with that. Anderson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kidd. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Anderson is trying to buck Kidd off. Kidd cracks Anderson with an elbow. That is naaassty. Kidd is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Anderson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Kidd has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Anderson pushes Kidd away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Kidd gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Anderson is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kidd wants to lay and pray for a moment but Anderson keeps working. Kidd stands up. Anderson has taken the fight to the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Anderson gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
It looks like Dannie Kidd has been cut. Anderson landing knees to the body.
Kidd takes an elbow to the temple. Anderson is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body. Kidd is breathing heavily. Anderson lands an elbow that stopped Kidd in his tracks for a moment. Anderson lands an elbow inside that Kidd shrugs off.
Dannie Kidd's cut is getting worse. Anderson lands an elbow inside.
Kidd is rocked! Anderson unloads a knee to the mid-section. Kidd lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Oh Kidd is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Anderson landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Kidd takes a knee to the side of the body. Clinched against the cage, Anderson lands a big elbow that drops Kidd! The ref dives in to save him from more shots - Kidd is complaining that he's OK but he was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Donald Anderson!
