PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Brij Khali (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jaromir Jag (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 35 - 74 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Brij Khali!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 42 - 87 - 2, fighting out of Montreal, Jaromir Jag!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Jorge Garcia and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jag gets a clinch.
Khali is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Khali is looking for a takedown.
Jag gets underhooks to prevent Khali's takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brij Khali. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jag looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Khali changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Jag fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Jag clinches up against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Khali tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Jag smiles and moves away.

Jag doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Khali changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Jag fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Jag has Khali up against the cage in a clinch.
Khali blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Jag breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Jag has taken the fight to the clinch.
Khali takes an elbow to the forehead.
Khali tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Jag smiles and moves away.
Khali blocks a head kick by Jag.
Khali drops down looking for a counter takedown but Jag sprawls and moves away.
Jag throws a sloppy head kick and Khali moves out of range easily.
Khali takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Jag moves into the clinch successfully.
Jag prevents a takedown attempt there.
Jag tries to land knees in the clinch but Khali avoids the damage to the body.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Jag escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Khali blocks a head kick by Jag.
Khali feinted with a counter takedown.

Jag closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Jag is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

Jag lands an elbow just above Khali 's eye.

Jag is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Khali is defending well for now.
Jag is pressed up against the cage. Khali has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Jag down to the mat. Jag avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Jaromir Jag seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Jag gets a clinch.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Khali tightens his grip and picks Jag up, before dumping him to the ground. Jag manages to land in guard.
Jag is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Khali is controlling him.

Jag wriggles free and stands up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jag tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Khali avoids it.
Khali jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Jag walks away with a smile on his face. Khali gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Jag misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Jag has closed the distance and engaged Khali in a clinch.

Khali has hold of one of Jag's legs. Jag is fighting the takedown attempt but Khali gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Jaromir Jag showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Khali's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Well Jag has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
