Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jose Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stu Pidaso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jose Cruz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Stu Pidaso !
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Gwen Towbar and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cruz lands a high kick!
It looks like Stu Pidaso has been cut.
Pidaso dives in for a single leg takedown but Cruz sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
As Pidaso looks to move away, Cruz throws a big counter combo but Pidaso just gets out of the way.
Pidaso changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Cruz tries to avoid it but Pidaso manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Cruz to the ground. Cruz escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Cruz feints and then cracks Pidaso 's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Pidaso down.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Pidaso .
Jose Cruz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Stu Pidaso .
Pidaso fails with the takedown.
Cruz lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Cruz misses with a double jab.
Cruz definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cruz connects with a leg kick. Pidaso looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Cruz displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Pidaso misses with a takedown attempt
and Cruz counters with a stiff jab, followed by a cross and an uppercut! That's too much punishment for Pidaso to take - he tumbles to the canvas, blood pouring from his nose, barely conscious. That's the end of the fight! Great knockout by Cruz!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Jose Cruz!
