Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Burton tries to work over Hurst's front leg with a kick but Hurst checks it. Hurst gets tackled into the cage by Burton. Burton maintains the clinch. Hurst fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Burton has hold of one of Hurst's legs. Hurst is fighting the takedown attempt but Burton gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Burton postures up.
Hurst escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Burton gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Hurst is pulling down on Burton's head. It's preventing any offense from Burton, at least for the moment. Hurst utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hurst tries to land a sweep but no joy. Burton is stalling in the full guard. Hurst manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Burton manages to get himself to full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Burton has his hands on Hurst's head, controlling the position. Burton being controlled here, momentarily. Burton wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Hurst slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Burton controls Hurst momentarily but Hurst frees himself. Burton wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Hurst is now in half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Burton regains full guard. Nicely done. Hurst slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Burton.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Burton trying to hold on to Hurst's head to control him but Hurst postures up.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Hurst will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Burton wants to get back to full guard.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Burton fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Burton ducks under a wild hook from Hurst. Hurst avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Hurst trying to control the position here. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Burton avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

A close round but Nathaniel Burton will probably get the nod. That's time! Hurst's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Hurst gets caught napping as Burton dives in and scores a takedown. Hurst manages to retain guard. Hurst has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Burton off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Hurst thows a leg kick but Burton checks it and Hurst takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Burton showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Hurst.
Burton closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Hurst pushes Burton off and gets back to his feet. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Burton tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hurst swats him away and circles back towards the center. Hurst went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Hurst gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Burton must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Burton is fighting to break Hurst's control of his arms but Hurst is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Burton trying to control but Hurst is working from the bottom. Hurst working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Burton has passed into half guard!
Burton content to control rather than advance. Burton throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Hurst is staying active underneath Burton, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Burton missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Hurst actively working from the bottom here. Hurst trying to control here.

Burton tries to pass to full mount but Hurst defends it. Hurst is refusing to be controlled, as Burton sits in half guard. Hurst is looking to control Burton's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Hurst avoid being mounted?

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Burton throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Hurst was covering up waiting for the punch and Burton finishes the takedown easily into guard. Hurst looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Hurst controlling the position. Burton pushes down on Hurst's leg and manages to get into half guard. Hurst pushes Burton off looking to stand but Burton dives back in and keeps control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hurst is trying to maintain the position but Burton is very close to passing his half guard. Burton sitting and controlling from the half guard. Hurst controlling the position well. Burton wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hurst keeps working. Hurst kicks off Burton and gets to his feet. Burton fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Hurst checks it well. Burton drives through with a takedown into Hurst's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. That was a close second round but I would say that Peter Hurst will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!
Burton does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Hurst gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Burton to score an easy takedown into full guard. Hurst has his feet on Burton's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Nathaniel Burton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Burton looking to score a takedown here. Hurst is defending well but Burton drives through and ends up in Hurst's guard. Hurst tries to strike from the bottom.
Hurst is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Burton defends well. Burton throwing strikes but missing. Burton avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hurst has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Burton can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Hurst has Burton pulled in close to control his posture. Hurst is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Hurst seems keen to control Burton's posture. Burton is stalling in the full guard. Burton trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Hurst managing to control the position. Hurst wants to stand and escape but Burton is having none of it. Burton wants to control from the top but Hurst keeps moving.

Hurst is not content to let Burton control the position. Hurst is controlling Burton's trapped leg to prevent Burton from advancing to side control. Hurst trying to control here.
Hurst wants to get back to full guard. Burton content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Burton wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hurst keeps working. Burton missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Burton seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hurst does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Hurst avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Burton. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Burton not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Hurst trying to control but Burton postures up.
Hurst is looking to improve his position.
Burton looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Nathaniel Burton. Well Burton has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
