Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Al Pal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Martin Dawkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dawkins throws a jab but it's blocked by Pal. Dawkins looks to land a left hand but Pal moved out of range nicely. Dawkins uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Pal.
Dawkins swings for the body but Pal moves out of range.
Dawkins is looking to clinch. Dawkins will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Dawkins throws a good cross that connects.
It looks like Al Pal has been cut. Dawkins thows a body shot but no joy. Dawkins connects with a right hand. Pal shakes it off. Pal throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Dawkins's waist but Dawkins gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Pal off to one side. Dawkins tries to clinch but Pal moves out of range. Dawkins dips to his left and cracks Pal with an uppercut! Dawkins misses with a shot to the body and Pal counters with a takedown into side control. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Dawkins is trying to control Pal's posture but Pal avoids it. Pal is looking to take a break and control but Dawkins is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Pal goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Dawkins rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Pal's guard! Nice work there by Dawkins!
That's one minute gone in the round. Pal has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Dawkins can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Dawkins postures up.
Dawkins trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Dawkins really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pal. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Pal working for a triangle but Dawkins defends it easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Pal is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Pal striking off his back but it's not causing Dawkins any problems. Dawkins must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Pal throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Pal is breathing heavily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dawkins content to stall in guard here. Dawkins trying to control the position from guard on top but Pal is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pal is controlling Dawkins's posture.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Pal trying to keep a closed guard but Dawkins is proving a slippery customer.
Dawkins slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Pal has his foot on Dawkins's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Dawkins works his way back into a safe position though. Pal looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Pal working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Dawkins doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Dawkins manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Dawkins sitting in guard here, content to control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Martin Dawkins dominated that round. The cut man is working on Al Pal's cut. That's time! Pal's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Dawkins closes the distance looking to clinch and Pal counters with a nice double leg into guard. Dawkins is trying to keep Pal in close.
Pal throwing strikes from guard but Dawkins blocks nicely. Pal is looking to stand up but Dawkins won't let him. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Dawkins can do anything to dispel that myth. Pal throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Pal is looking to work some ground and pound but Dawkins has wrist control. Dawkins is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dawkins keeping moving, preventing Pal from controlling successfully.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Pal shoots in but Dawkins avoids the takedown attempt easily. Dawkins ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Pal moves away. Dawkins tries for a takedown but Pal circles away easily and Pal counters with a takedown into side control. Pal stands up. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Pal moves out of range as Dawkins strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dawkins throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Dawkins lands an overhand right. Dawkins misses with a series of wild punches.
Pal closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Pal wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dawkins keeps working. Dawkins is trying to get back to half guard. Pal tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Dawkins can't do much from the bottom here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pal working the strikes but Dawkins uses the opportunity to regain half guard. Dawkins punching from the bottom.
Pal wants to control but Dawkins is keeping him busy. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Pal lands a nice short elbow. Dawkins wants to get back to his feet.
Pal is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Dawkins is just riding it out for now. Pal eventually gives up the hold.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Dawkins is defending against the submission attempts here by Pal.

Al Pal dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Al Pal's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

and Pal counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Dawkins! Pal cracks Dawkins with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Pal trying to control but Dawkins is having none of it. Pal controlling the position easily from mount. Pal looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Dawkins tries to get back to half guard but can't. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pal dominating with strikes here. Pal takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Dawkins is squirming around, avoiding Pal's attempts to control the action. Dawkins is trying to escape the mount.
Pal unloading with bombs! Al Pal overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Pal stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dawkins keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Pal uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Dawkins. Dawkins throws a series of punches but Pal avoids them all with ease. Dawkins takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Al Pal is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Dawkins connects with the punch. Martin Dawkins seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Dawkins changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Pal looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Dawkins wants to lay and pray for a moment but Pal keeps working. Dawkins working away. Pal is trying to improve his position. Dawkins throws a strike aimed at the side of Pal's head but Pal avoids it well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pal manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Pal is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Pal is thwarting Dawkins's attempts to control the position. Pal wants to work for an arm triangle but Dawkins is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Pal thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Dawkins to regain full guard. Dawkins utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Pal trying to control the position from guard on top but Dawkins is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Pal trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Pal wants to control from the top but Dawkins keeps moving. Dawkins is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
And that's the end of the fight! Al Pal showed his dominance in that final round. I think Pal has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
