Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fedor Emelianenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Athar Bilal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Emelianenko comes to the cage accompanied by Fort minor - Remember the name. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Athar Bilal! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Tiny Johnson and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Emelianenko throws a series of punches but Bilal moves out of range. Emelianenko swings for the body but Bilal moves out of range.

Athar Bilal seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Bilal looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Emelianenko is fending him off so far but Bilal persists. Nope, Emelianenko circles away and we're back to standing. Excellent takedown into side control there by Bilal. Bilal stands up and beckons Emelianenko to his feet. Nice takedown defense from Bilal. No joy for Emelianenko on that attempt. Bilal fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Emelianenko. No joy there for Bilal, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Emelianenko shoots and misses and Bilal counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Bilal. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Bilal trying to control but Emelianenko is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Emelianenko is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Emelianenko wants a takedown but no success here.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fedor Emelianenko. That's going to take a lot out of him. Emelianenko is breathing heavily. Bilal swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Emelianenko prevents Bilal from breaking the clinch. Bilal pulls guard. Emelianenko trying to control but Bilal is working from the bottom. Bilal has control of Emelianenko's left arm, preventing Emelianenko from doing any damage. Emelianenko pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Bilal is keeping the position for now. Bilal trying to keep a closed guard but Emelianenko is proving a slippery customer.
Bilal wriggles free and stands up. Emelianenko darts in trying to clinch and Bilal counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Bilal.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bilal looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Bilal looking to pass the guard. Bilal trying to control the position from guard on top but Emelianenko is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Emelianenko controls Bilal momentarily but Bilal frees himself. Emelianenko had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Bilal is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Emelianenko Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Bilal's back instead.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bilal manages to reverse the position and now he's in Emelianenko's guard. Nice work there by Bilal.
Bilal wants to pass the guard but Emelianenko is keeping the position.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Emelianenko takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Bilal with a lazy takedown attempt letting Emelianenko counter with a right hand. Emelianenko decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Bilal works his way to full guard. Good work. Emelianenko working some strikes from top position. Emelianenko throwing strikes but missing. Emelianenko content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
It looks like Athar Bilal has been cut. Emelianenko postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Emelianenko in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Emelianenko with a flurry of punches that miss. Bilal looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Emelianenko passes into half guard. Emelianenko takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Bilal is rocked! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.Emelianenko looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Bilal with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Bilal is still in real trouble! Can Emelianenko finish him? Bilal is defending against the submission attempts here by Emelianenko.
Bilal is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Emelianenko scores with a couple of nice shots. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Emelianenko is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Emelianenko in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Bilal tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Emelianenko!
