Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Bruce Battle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Sosuke Kotani and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nico works Battle's body with a nice hook.
Nico fails with the takedown.
Battle went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Nico throws a body kick that misses.
Nico looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Battle!
Battle is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Nico tries for a kimura but Battle is defending well.

Nico goes for a double leg but Battle avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Battle continues to drive forward.

Battle shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Nico but Nico pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Nico fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Battle, pushing him back against the cage.
Battle avoiding damage as Nico throws knees to the body.
Battle breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Nico shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Nico was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Battle tries to buck Nico off but Nico is having none of it.

Nico looks up at the clock and then as Battle takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Nico smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Nico tries to score with some ground and pound. Battle controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Battle avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Nico.
Nico goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Battle has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Nico but great work by Battle.
Nico is breathing heavily.
Battle wants to control but Nico is keeping him busy.
Battle thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Nico is in a bad spot here and he knows it... just holding on for now.

Nico is trying to pull guard but Battle turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Nico is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Battle is trying to control. Nico wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Battle wants to free his trapped foot but Nico is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Battle wants to take a breather but Nico is having none of it.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Some bone on bone action there as Battle checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Battle manages to break the clinch.
Battle lets loose with a powerful body kick. Nico will feel that in the morning.
Nico shoots in looking for a takedown. Battle tries to sprawl out of it but Nico keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Battle manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Bruce Battle is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Battle is looking to clinch but Nico is avoiding it.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Nico.

Nic Nico is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Battle throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Nico's waist but Nico gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Battle off to one side.
Nico is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
