Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Billy Marques (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Evan Berget (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marques comes to the cage accompanied by Raining Blood. Billy Marques is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Billy Marques! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Evan Berget! The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Bruno Hogan and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marques will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Marques is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Marques shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Marques throws out a loose jab but Berget uses good head movement to avoid it. Berget loads up on a big right hand but Marques slips the punch. Berget misses with a body punch
and Marques counters with a series of strikes. Berget will be more careful next time no doubt. Berget lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Marques misses the jab. A combination from Marques does no damage. A shot to the body from Berget misses letting Marques counter with a right hand. Berget jabbing away but nothing is landing. Marques appears to be looking for a big counter. Berget tests Marques's chin there with a solid looking shot. This has been an exciting period of action! Berget drives through and clinches with Marques against the cage.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Berget sizes up Marques with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Marques is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight. Berget might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Berget moves away from the strike by Marques. Berget takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Berget is working for a submission of some sort.

Marques will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Berget stands and throws Marques's legs to the side, diving into side control. Marques gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Berget punishing his opponent with strikes.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Marques is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Berget tries to buck Marques off but Marques is having none of it. Billy Marques has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Berget can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The referee asks Marques politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Marques prefers to stall for the moment though. Berget has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Berget is positioning himself to get back to half guard. You can see the frustration on Berget's face as Marques controls the position. Berget tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Marques wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Marques taking a breather here. Berget takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Evan Berget. I've got Berget winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
