Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sergio Barrett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Henry Randolph (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Henry Randolph has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sergio Barrett!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Henry Randolph!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Ian Loll and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown attempt by Randolph or perhaps it was just good defense by Barrett, which made it look bad.
Randolph tries to clinch but Barrett moves away

and Barrett counters with a shoot takedown. Randolph fights it but they end up in guard.
Barrett controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Barrett seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Randolph for as long as he can get away with.
Randolph tries to land a sweep but no joy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Randolph is adopting a defensive guard.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Barrett might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Barrett tries a head kick but it misses.

Randolph has taken the fight to the clinch.
Randolph is trying to pull guard but Barrett turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Randolph lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Barrett.

Randolph pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Barrett forces Randolph back against the cage and clinches.

Randolph wants the takedown. Barrett is fighting it off but Randolph persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Barrett's guard against the cage.

Randolph swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Randolph is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Barrett can't fight it off and eventually Randolph manages to take the fight to the floor. Barrett looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Randolph has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Barrett is proving hard to escape from.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Randolph tries to clinch there but Barrett circles away.
Randolph fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Barrett avoids it really well and circles away.
Sergio Barrett has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Henry Randolph.
Randolph looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Barrett wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

Barrett shoots in looking for a takedown. Randolph tries to sprawl out of it but Barrett keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Randolph manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

and Randolph counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Barrett!

Barrett sneaks out the side door and pushes Randolph away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Randolph looks to throw the jab but Barrett is out of range.

Barrett swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

Randolph tries to clinch but Barrett is having none of it.
The fight stays on the outside here - Randolph looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Barrett is looking to control Randolph's arms but Randolph gets an underhook and turns him. Now Barrett has his back to the cage.

Randolph tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Barrett avoids it.
Randolph creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.

Barrett tries to work over Randolph's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Barrett shoots in looking for a takedown. Randolph tries to sprawl out of it but Barrett keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Randolph manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Barrett gets a takedown into half guard.
Barrett is taking a breather. Randolph says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Barrett has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Randolph is looking to get back to is feet but Barrett passes into side control.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Barrett is staying tight to Randolph's torso, preventing him from escaping.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Sergio Barrett.
Well Randolph has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
