Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Thiago Cunha and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rossi tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Rossi clinches up against the cage.
Rossi breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Rossi looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Finalizador!
Rossi looking to control but Finalizador is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Rossi is trying to stand up but he's being controlled by his opponent.

Finalizador is squirming around, avoiding Rossi's attempts to control the action.
Rossi is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Finalizador is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Rossi takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Rossi knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Finalizador on the ground.
Rossi is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Finalizador can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Finalizador is looking to improve his position but Rossi isn't that keen on the idea.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rossi tries to pass the half guard into mount. Finalizador knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Finalizador has hold of Rossi's hands but Rossi slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Rossi drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Finalizador with a lazy takedown attempt
and Rossi counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Rossi.
Rossi avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Rossi looking to sit in guard and control but Finalizador gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Rossi wants to sweep but no luck.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Rossi has Finalizador pulled in close to control his posture.

Rossi is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Gustavo Rossi overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Finalizador shoots and misses
and Rossi counters with a nice double leg into side control. Finalizador won't be happy with that.
Rossi works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

Rossi decides to stand back up. Rossi steps back and let's Finalizador get back to his feet.
Rossi rushes Finalizador and presses him up against the cage.
Finalizador has Rossi pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Rossi manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Gustavo Rossi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ricardo Finalizador.
Rossi breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Rossi fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Finalizador sprawls well initially but Rossi persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Finalizador is defending against the submission attempts here by Rossi.
Rossi lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Rossi is keen to just control but Finalizador is a slippery customer.
Rossi wants to pass the guard but Finalizador is defending well.

Rossi is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Finalizador still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Finalizador has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

Rossi has hold of Finalizador's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Finalizador manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Finalizador is looking for a sweep. Rossi is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Finalizador is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Rossi is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Finalizador is just riding it out for now. Rossi eventually gives up the hold.
Rossi is tying to control. Finalizador wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Rossi is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Finalizador defends it well.
Finalizador has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Rossi. Oh but Finalizador has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Rossi goes limp - he's gone! Finalizador jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
