Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Usko Matonen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mathew Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Johnson's choice of entrance music: Monster - Starset. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mathew Johnson!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, John Kavanagh and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Johnson throws a head kick that misses.
Matonen lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
A head kick misses from Johnson.
Johnson takes one to the chin there.
Johnson looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Johnson moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Johnson pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Matonen connects with a jab.
Johnson is rocked!
Johnson throws a sloppy head kick and Matonen moves out of range easily.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Johnson walks into a straight right hand from Matonen.
Johnson is still on wobbly legs! Can Matonen finish him?
Matonen scores with a nice strike.
Johnson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Matonen went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Johnson tries to land a front kick but Matonen steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Matonen paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Matonen throws an uppercut from hell that sends Johnson clean off his feet! He's out cold! Matonen stands back and admires his work as he thinks about that KO of the night award that is surely being wrapped up for him back stage.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Usko Matonen!
Usko Matonen was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
