Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rodrick Mclaughlin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yuri Boyka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Boyka's choice of entrance music: Boyka. Rodrick Mclaughlin has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Rodrick Mclaughlin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Yuri Boyka! The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Aleksandr Martynov and Ivan Kurochkin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Boyka darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Mclaughlin is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Mclaughlin is refusing to be controlled, as Boyka sits in half guard. Mclaughlin keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. Mclaughlin gets full guard. Boyka wants to stand but Mclaughlin is controlling his posture from full guard. Mclaughlin is controlling Boyka's posture. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mclaughlin wants to sweep here but Boyka controlling him for the moment. Boyka throwing strikes from guard but Mclaughlin blocks nicely. Boyka seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Mclaughlin could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Mclaughlin keeping moving, preventing Boyka from controlling successfully. Mclaughlin tries to land a sweep but no joy. Mclaughlin is working hard here to advance position. Mclaughlin is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Boyka defends well. Boyka is stalling in the full guard. Boyka throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Mclaughlin works some decent striking defense from the bottom. That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Mclaughlin managing to control the position. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Mclaughlin wants to sweep here but Boyka controlling him for the moment. Boyka makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Boyka stopping the sweep attempt from Mclaughlin. Boyka postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. That's three minutes gone in the round. Boyka would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Mclaughlin doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Boyka closes the distance and clinches. Mclaughlin drops down looking for an ankle pick but Boyka pulls his leg out and moves away.
Nice sprawl there from Boyka as Mclaughlin shoots in. Mclaughlin shoots in and drives through. Boyka sprawls well. Boyka counters with a body kick. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rodrick Mclaughlin. That's going to take a lot out of him. Boyka cracks Mclaughlin with an open hand slap. Boyka gets a double leg takedown into Mclaughlin's guard. Boyka wanted to stand there but Mclaughlin had control of the position. Boyka gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Boyka scores with a head kick. Mclaughlin tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. Boyka keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Mclaughlin is breathing heavily. Boyka looking to score a takedown here. Mclaughlin is defending well but Boyka drives through and ends up in Mclaughlin's guard. Mclaughlin has Boyka pulled in close to control his posture. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Boyka keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Mclaughlin's head. Boyka with a nice head shot there. Mclaughlin is controlling Boyka's posture. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Yuri Boyka dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Boyka shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Boyka was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Boyka. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Boyka throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Mclaughlin can't do much from the bottom here. Boyka scoring with punches from side control. Boyka lands an elbow. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Boyka working away. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mclaughlin tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Boyka wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Boyka lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Mclaughlin struggling a bit here. Boyka has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Mclaughlin gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mclaughlin trying to control the position here. Mclaughlin avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Mclaughlin is pulling down on Boyka's head. It's preventing any offense from Boyka, at least for the moment. Boyka preventing the sweep.

Boyka lands a front kick. Rodrick Mclaughlin is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Boyka throws a nice looking combination but Mclaughlin bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Mclaughlin fires out a quick counter leg kick but Boyka just manages to avoid it.

Mclaughlin appears to be looking for a big counter. Boyka throws a sloppy head kick and Mclaughlin moves out of range easily. Yuri Boyka seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Boyka is breathing heavily. Boyka pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Mclaughlin closes the distance and clinches up with Boyka, looking for a takedown. Mclaughlin pushes Boyka against the cage but Boyka circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Boyka drives through with a takedown into Mclaughlin's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Boyka must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Boyka being controlled here momentarily. Boyka is working the ground and pound from guard. Boyka got a little sloppy there for a moment and Mclaughlin has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Boyka has managed to get both his arms back between Mclaughlin's legs - danger averted. Boyka trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Mclaughlin keeping moving, preventing Boyka from controlling successfully. Boyka has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Boyka has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Mclaughlin is proving hard to escape from. Mclaughlin looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Yuri Boyka showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Boyka closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Mclaughlin gets back to full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Boyka controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Mclaughlin working for a triangle but Boyka defends it easily.

Mclaughlin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Boyka makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Boyka is working Mclaughlin over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Boyka won't allow Mclaughlin to sweep him here. Boyka is looking to stand up but Mclaughlin won't let him. Boyka lands a couple of elbows.

Mclaughlin moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Boyka tries to stand but Mclaughlin is controlling from the bottom. Mclaughlin has Boyka pulled in close to control his posture. And that's the end of the fight! Yuri Boyka comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Boyka has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
