Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ron Kirby (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyrock Dillick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tyrock Dillick will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ron Kirby!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tyrock Dillick!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Steve Erwin and Ron Honeybunn.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dillick throws the left hand but Kirby avoids the punch easily.
Dillick falls off balance throwing a combination

and Kirby moves into the clinch.

Kirby manages to break the clinch.

Dillick closes the distance and clinches.
Dillick prevents a takedown attempt there.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

Dillick wants the takedown. Kirby is fighting it off but Dillick persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Kirby's guard against the cage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kirby seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Kirby drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Dillick dives on top into guard.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Kirby flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Dillick lands a nice short elbow.


It looks like Ron Kirby has been cut.

Dillick is stalling here. Kirby is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Dillick seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Kirby has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Dillick tries to buck Kirby off but Kirby is having none of it.
Dillick is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Kirby wants to control but Dillick is keeping him busy.

Dillick gets tackled into the cage by Kirby. Kirby maintains the clinch.

Dillick turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Kirby rushes Dillick and presses him up against the cage.
Kirby tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Dillick just stands there and leans against the cage.

Dillick wants the takedown. Kirby is fighting it off but Dillick persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Kirby's guard against the cage.

Kirby has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Dillick is on him like a limpet, forcing Kirby back against the cage.
Dillick is pressed up against the cage. Kirby has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Dillick down to the mat. Dillick avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Dillick throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Dillick shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kirby pinned against the cage. Kirby gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Dillick closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Kirby drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ron Kirby. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Dillick pulls guard.

Kirby stands and steps away. Dillick gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Kirby throws a big counter combination but Dillick scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

Dillick clinches up with Kirby and pushes him back against the cage.
Kirby looking to throw knees to the head but Dillick is blocking nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tyrock Dillick showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!



Kirby gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Dillick is trying to drag Kirby to the mat but Kirby just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Dillick lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Dillick gets underhooks to prevent Kirby's takedown attempt.
Kirby is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Dillick is defending well.

Kirby breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Dillick lands on the inside with an uppercut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kirby changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Dillick fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Dillick with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Kirby tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Dillick smiles and moves away.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Dillick throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Dillick shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Kirby makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Dillick has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Dillick tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Kirby defends well and Dillick ends up having to push Kirby into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Dillick looks to land a combination but Kirby avoids it well.

Dillick tries to keep at a distance but Kirby has taken the fight into the clinch.
Kirby lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

Dillick has hold of one of Kirby's legs. Kirby is fighting the takedown attempt but Dillick gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Dillick wants to control from the top but Kirby keeps moving.
Dillick must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kirby wants to control but Dillick is keeping busy.

Dillick looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Kirby is trying to control but can't.
Dillick scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Kirby is doing well to control the position and prevent Dillick from advancing to side control.
Kirby throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Kirby is trying to maintain the position but Dillick is very close to passing his half guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Dillick clinches up against the cage.

Dillick escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Dillick looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Kirby throwing a counter right hand but Dillick manages to avoid it.
Dillick shoots in for a takedown but Kirby shows good takedown defense.
Dillick takes a swing at Kirby's ribcage but misses.
An attempted straight right counter from Kirby misses the target.

Dillick clinches with his opponent.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Dillick is pushing Kirby up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Dillick is pressed up against the cage. Kirby has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Dillick down to the mat. Dillick avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

And that's the end of the fight!
Tyrock Dillick comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Dillick has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
