Mullins tries to close the distance and clinch up but Light swats him away and circles back towards the center. Light lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Light avoids the body shot from Mullins.
Light's coach down at The Island Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Light's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Light fails to land with a series of punches.
Light is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. The crowd cheers as Light lands an impressive looking overhand right. Mullins doesn't seem phased though. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Light rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Mullins moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Mullins throws a jab but it's blocked by Light. Light connects with a body shot. Mullins tries to clinch up. Mullins takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Mullins wants to clinch up but Light keeps it at a distance. A cross from Light lands. Mullins tries to close the distance and clinch up but Light swats him away and circles back towards the center. Light works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Mullins is rocked! Light throws a right and a left that both miss. Oh Mullins is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Light is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Nice cross by Light. Light fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Mullins swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Mullins wants to clinch. Light has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Mullins walks straight into a perfectly timed right hook, crumpling him to the floor! Mullins is in all kinds of trouble here - can he beat the count? 3,4,5,6,7,8,9....10 - he's out and it's by a long way too - he didn't ever look like beating that count!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Lasse Light!
