Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Skip Grey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ben Wallace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Skip Grey! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ben Wallace! The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Jeff Smith and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wallace misses with a combination
and Grey counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Grey content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Grey escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Grey's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Wallace connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Grey scrambles back to his feet. Wallace changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Grey tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Grey clinches with his opponent.
Grey manages to break the clinch.
Wallace is looking to clinch. Good standup being displayed there by Wallace as he connects with a hook. Wallace moves in looking to clinch but Grey pushes him off. Grey throws a right and a left that Wallace avoids nicely. Grey doesn't succeed with the takedown letting Wallace counter with a right hand. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Wallace is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Wallace lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

That's one minute gone in the round. Wallace comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Grey has taken the fight to the clinch.
Grey is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Wallace gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Grey wants to take the fight to the mat but Wallace manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Skip Grey. That's going to take a lot out of him. Wallace wants a takedown.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wallace is standing up over Grey. Grey looks to escape but Wallace dives into side control.
Grey knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Wallace on the ground. Grey tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Wallace presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Wallace controlling from mount.

Grey on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Grey tries to get out of the position. Wallace gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Grey has closed the distance and engaged Wallace in a clinch.
Wallace jumps guard but Grey stands there with Wallace around his waist. Wallace gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Wallace is trying to break the clinch but Grey has him pressed against the cage. Grey breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Grey has a takedown stuffed. Wallace throws out a counter right but Grey avoids it with no problem. Grey shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Wallace sprawls well. Wallace wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Grey gets slowly back to his feet. Wallace tries to close the distance and clinch up but Grey swats him away and circles back towards the center. Wallace works over Grey's head and body with a nice combination. Grey misses with a few strikes there.
Grey dives in and grabs Wallace's left leg, looking for a takedown. Wallace pushes down on Grey's head and hops out.

Grey looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Grey is breathing heavily. Grey closes the distance and pushes Wallace back into the cage. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Wallace can't get the takedown.
Grey's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Grey shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Wallace as he jumps to the side. Wallace swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Grey avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Wallace connects with a good right hand that stumbles Grey. Grey circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Wallace stuffs the takedown. Wallace clobbers Grey with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Grey takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
A looping hook to the body misses from Wallace. Grey does a little dance to reset his feet. No joy there for Wallace, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

That's one minute gone in the round. Grey throws a wild body kick that Wallace sees coming a mile off. A little jabbing left from Wallace on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Wallace scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

Wallace throws a right hand that Grey ducks under and follows up with a left that Grey also avoids with ease. It looked like Grey wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Wallace jabbing away but nothing is landing. Wallace throws a right and a left that Grey avoids nicely. Grey uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Wallace.
Wallace misses the jab. Grey closes the distance and pushes Wallace back into the cage. Grey pulls guard effortlessly. Wallace is standing up over Grey. Grey looks to escape but Wallace dives into side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Grey bucks up and tries to throw Wallace off but instead Wallace has got his back! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Grey just trying to survive but Wallace is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish. Good control from Wallace. Wallace's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Grey just trying to survive but Wallace is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. You can see the frustration on Grey's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Grey has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke. Wallace has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Grey's body.
Grey is trying to get back to his feet but Wallace has full control of the position and if anything, Grey has just worked his way into a worse spot. Grey is defending well here and trying to improve his position.

Ben Wallace showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Skip Grey's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Wallace bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Grey's head backwards. Wallace avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Grey changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Wallace tries to avoid it but Grey manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Wallace to the ground. Wallace escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Wallace! But no joy. Nice sprawl there from Wallace as Grey shoots in. Grey uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Wallace.

Grey tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Wallace defends well and Grey ends up having to push Wallace into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Wallace throws out a counter right but Grey avoids it with no problem. Wallace lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Wallace scores with a nice head shot. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The crowd cheers as Wallace lands an impressive looking overhand right. Grey doesn't seem phased though.

That's one minute gone in the round. Danga de danga de dang - Wallace scores with a four punch combination! Grey walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Wallace digs a good hook to Grey's body.
