Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Peter Branson and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santos with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Bates to score with a decent uppercut.
Santos ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Santos shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Bates but Bates pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Santos looks to throw a body kick
and Santos takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
It looks like Yoyo Santos has been cut.
Bates lands a glancing blow to the side of Santos's head.

Santos throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bates's waist but Bates gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Santos off to one side.

Santos's coach down at Area51 was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Santos's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Yoyo Santos seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
