Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between German Hood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jet James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, German Hood! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jet James! The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Bruno Hogan and Ron Honeybunn.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hood clinches with his opponent.
Hood has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. James avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. James's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. James connects with a body shot. James circles away from the clinch attempt.
Hood fails with an attempt to clinch.
James throws a body shot but no joy. James has managed to clinch.
Hood stalls. Hood tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. James smiles and moves away.
Sloppy strikes from James. Those never looked like landing. James clinches up with Hood and pushes him back against the cage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. James tries to break free but Hood pushes him back against the cage. James's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. James moves into the clinch successfully.

That's one minute gone in the round. James is working Hood over against the cage. James turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and James manages to end up in side control. Hood sneaks out the side door and pushes James away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape. Hood wants to clinch. James fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hood, pushing him back against the cage. Hood tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. James just stands there and leans against the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for German Hood. That's going to take a lot out of him. James looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. James has picked Hood up - he's going for a ride! James dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! James looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground! James sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Hood defending well though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hood trying to control but James postures up.
James throws a strike but Hood avoids it easily and moves to full guard. James throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. James is looking to work some ground and pound but Hood has wrist control. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Hood holds on and takes a little breather. Hood bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in James's guard. Hood is standing up over James. James looks to escape but Hood dives into side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. James sneaks back into half guard. James is looking for a sweep. Hood is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. James pushes Hood off looking to stand but Hood dives back in and keeps control.
Hood prevents James from improving his position. James wants to get back to his feet.
James wants to stand back up but Hood manages to pass into side control.
James tries to improve position but can't. James pushes Hood away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Hood gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. James is not content to let Hood control the position. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if James can do anything to dispel that myth. James is looking for a sweep. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. James is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Hood in side control lands a decent elbow. Hood fails to land a wild elbow strike.
James is looking to regain half guard here but Hood keeps moving and retains side control. Hood landing strikes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jet James dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
James throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Hood tries to counter by clinching up but James breaks away and moves out of range. James closes the distance and clinches. Hood lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Hood pulls guard. James pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hood is keeping the position for now. James throws a big right hand that misses. Hood is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Hammerfist, elbow! yells James's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Hood has his foot on James's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. James works his way back into a safe position though. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. James lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Hood lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Hood throwing strikes but missing. James is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. James trying to strike off his back.
Hood really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. James wants to stand up but Hood is controlling him. James trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Hood throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as James works some decent striking defense from the bottom. James wants to stand but Hood is controlling the position. James punching from the bottom - just letting Hood know he's still in a fight.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. James doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Hood won't allow James to get back to his feet.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. James lands with a nice body punch. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Hood checks a leg kick nicely. James throws a push kick but Hood slaps the foot to one side. Hood doesn't manage to clinch there - James circles away.
James lands a jab to Hood's midsection. German Hood is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. James lands a jab to the head.
James smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Hood is rocked! James closes the distance looking for a takedown. Hood stuffs it but James still has hold of him. James picks Hood up in a fireman's lift! The crowd roars in approval. James slams Hood to the floor and that's really hurt Hood - he doesn't know where he is! James throws a couple of strikes and the referee steps in to save him! This one is in the books!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:51 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jet James!
