Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vladimir Zakherenkoff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Karelin Pripyat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Karelin Pripyat is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Karelin Pripyat!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Tiny Johnson and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Pripyat is defended easily by Zakherenkoff.
Zakherenkoff displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Pripyat.
Pripyat looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Pripyat tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Zakherenkoff swivels and escapes.
Vladimir Zakherenkoff has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Karelin Pripyat.
Pripyat dives in for a single leg takedown but Zakherenkoff sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
The fighters circle momentarily. Zakherenkoff darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Zakherenkoff connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.


It looks like Karelin Pripyat has been cut.
Zakherenkoff has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Pripyat is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Zakherenkoff defends well.

Pripyat has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Zakherenkoff doesn't defend quickly enough and Pripyat has managed to lock this one up! Can Zakherenkoff escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Pripyat on a fantastic submission victory.
