Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ezekiel Brewer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jimmy Krocidal ! The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Summer Carpenter and Ben Hemmingworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A momentary lapse in concentration from Brewer enables Krocidal to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Brewer manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Krocidal looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Brewer looking to hit a scissor sweep but Krocidal is one step ahead there. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Brewer is trying to keep Krocidal in close.
Brewer looking to control but Krocidal passes into half guard.
Brewer is trying to get back to full guard. Krocidal is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Brewer to slip a leg under and get back to full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Brewer is trying to control the position from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Krocidal preventing the sweep. Brewer pulls Krocidal in close to his closed guard and prevents Krocidal from doing any damage or advancing position. Krocidal in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Brewer working a defensive guard here.
Brewer wants to sweep here but Krocidal controlling him for the moment. Krocidal looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Brewer is working hard here to advance position. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Krocidal wanted to stand there but Brewer had control of the position.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Krocidal circles away from the clinch attempt.
Krocidal shoots in and drives through. Brewer sprawls well. Krocidal avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Brewer tries to clinch up. Brewer darts in trying to clinch and Krocidal counters with a takedown into side control. Krocidal is looking to take a break and control but Brewer is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brewer wants to control but Krocidal postures up. Krocidal works to advance to full mount. Brewer defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Brewer keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Krocidal avoids the attempt from Brewer to control. Krocidal can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Brewer is looking to escape.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Krocidal prevents Brewer from getting the reversal. Krocidal putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Brewer is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Brewer wants to hold on but Krocidal pushes him away. Brewer is looking to get to half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Krocidal with good strikes from the mount here! Jimmy Krocidal dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Krocidal throws a head kick that misses. Brewer throws a big counter combination but Krocidal scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Brewer tries to score a power double leg takedown but Krocidal sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Brewer somewhat. Brewer stuffs the takedown attempt from Krocidal . Krocidal gets slowly back to his feet. Brewer clinches up with Krocidal and pushes him back against the cage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Krocidal tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Brewer just stands there and leans against the cage. Krocidal is breathing heavily. Brewer is looking to break free of the clinch but Krocidal has double underhooks.
That's one minute gone in the round. Krocidal keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Brewer's efforts to push away. Brewer is leaning against Krocidal and scores with a nice uppercut to the body. Krocidal managing to block the knees to the body from Brewer.
A frustrated look appears on Brewer's face as he tries to break the clinch. Brewer really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Brewer prevents Krocidal from breaking the clinch. Brewer wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Krocidal has him pressed against the cage. Krocidal blocks an elbow strike from Brewer.
Krocidal tries to break free but Brewer pushes him back against the cage. Brewer is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body. Krocidal prevents a body shot from Brewer.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Brewer breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Krocidal shoots in for a takedown but Brewer shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Brewer throws a big counter combination but Krocidal scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Ezekiel Brewer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jimmy Krocidal . Brewer fails with an attempt to clinch.
Brewer closes the distance and clinches up with Krocidal , looking for a takedown. Brewer pushes Krocidal against the cage but Krocidal circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Brewer rushes Krocidal and presses him up against the cage. Krocidal tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Brewer just stands there and leans against the cage. Krocidal takes a knee to the side of the body. Brewer tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Krocidal avoids it. Krocidal blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Brewer is looking to break free of the clinch but Krocidal has double underhooks.
That's three minutes gone in the round. With the two fighters working up against the cage, Brewer just misses with a elbow thrown towards Krocidal 's brow. Brewer can't break the clinch.
Brewer tries to work over Krocidal 's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Brewer throws a head punch that misses. Brewer breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Brewer moves in looking to clinch but Krocidal pushes him off. Brewer shoots in for a takedown but Krocidal shows good takedown defense. Krocidal tries to clinch but fails miserably and Brewer counters with a one-two to the body. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Krocidal is defended easily by Brewer. It looked like Brewer was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Brewer moves into the clinch successfully.

Brewer stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!!
