PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Michael Scott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Test Two (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Scott kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is DMX - Ain't No Sunshine. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Michael Scott!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Test Two!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Johanna Lukiainen and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Two takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Two shoots in for a takedown but Scott shows good takedown defense.
As Two looks to move away, Scott throws a big counter combo but Two just gets out of the way.
Two takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.


It looks like Test Two has been cut.
Test Two seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Two moves in looking to clinch but Scott pushes him off.

Two has closed the distance and engaged Scott in a clinch.
Two tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Scott smiles and moves away.

Two instigates a clinch.
Two is trying to pull guard but Scott turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Michael Scott has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Test Two.

Two gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Scott is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Two is refusing to be controlled, as Scott sits in half guard.
Two has a hand on Scott's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Scott takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
We've been hearing good reports from Scott's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Two wants to hit a switch here but Scott passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Two there!

Two doesn't manage to clinch there - Scott circles away.
Scott was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.

Scott can't find room to land a body shot as Two controls the action.

Two tries to pull guard but Scott holds him up against the cage and eventually Two drops back down to his feet.

Two working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Scott doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Scott manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Two trying to keep a closed guard but Scott is proving a slippery customer.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Two is looking for a triangle but Scott pushes his legs off easily.

Two working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Scott doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Scott manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Two tries to roll over but Scott keeps him under control.
Scott is trying to control the action in half guard but Two is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Two is looking for a sweep. Scott is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Two is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Scott pulls his head out easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Michael Scott will probably get the nod.

That's time! Scott's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Scott lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Two shoots in for a double leg but Scott sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Two takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Michael Scott is winning the standup battle so far.
Scott cracks Two with a good jab.
Two has his takedown stuffed
and Two takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Scott is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Two can do to turn this around?

and Scott counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Two shoots in for a takedown but Scott shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Two takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Scott swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Two.
Scott throws a series of punches but Two moves out of range.

Two feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Two trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Scott, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
