Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ivan Drago (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jesse Moreland (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Drago comes into the arena with Soviet Anthem blaring out of the sound system. Jesse Moreland is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ivan Drago! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jesse Moreland! The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Dmitry Maklakov and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Moreland tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Drago paws at him with a jab and circles away. Drago swats away the attempt to clinch by Moreland. Drago tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Drago fails to land the takedown. Moreland stuffs the takedown attempt from Drago. Drago gets slowly back to his feet. Drago closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Drago lands in his opponent's guard. Moreland looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Drago sitting in guard, not really doing much.
That's one minute gone in the round. Moreland throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Moreland has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Drago can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Moreland looks gassed! Moreland looking for a guillotine here but Drago defends easily.
Drago gets to his feet. Moreland looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Drago moves into the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Drago stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Nice body punch from Drago - that landed with a thud.
A shot in the inside from Drago. Drago tightens his grip and picks Moreland up, before dumping him to the ground. Moreland manages to land in guard. Drago wants to stand but Moreland has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Drago slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Drago tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Drago is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Moreland has escaped the position, nice work there. You can see the frustration on Moreland's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Moreland is trying to improve his position. Drago tries to advance to mount but can't.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Drago misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ivan Drago. That's going to take a lot out of him. Drago closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Drago stands up. Drago changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Moreland looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Moreland struggling a bit here. Moreland is trying to escape the position but Drago is controlling the position. Moreland strikes from the bottom but Drago takes advantage and advances to full mount! Moreland tries to get back to half guard but can't. Drago working away from the top, dropping strikes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ivan Drago dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Drago closes the distance and clinches. Moreland with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Moreland has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Drago is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Drago tries for a takedown. No joy.
Drago lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Moreland. Moreland throws a knee to the head but misses.
Drago wants the takedown. Moreland is fighting it off but Drago persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Moreland's guard against the cage. Drago won't allow Moreland to get back to his feet. Drago wants to stand but Moreland has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Drago is in close to Moreland's body, working some short punches and elbows. Drago trying to control but Moreland is working from the bottom. Drago has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Moreland is looking to stand up but Drago isn't so interested in that idea.
That's one minute gone in the round. Drago is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Drago is posturing up here but Moreland has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Drago tries to roll out but it's too tight and Drago has to tap! Slick submission there by Moreland!
