Cass changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Lycan looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lycan has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Cass's face.

Cass stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lycan swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Lycan lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Cass!
Lycan tries to take his opponent's back but Cass turns with him and manages to move into guard on the top. Nice work.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Cass clinches up with Lycan and pushes him back against the cage.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Lycan can't get the takedown.
Cass tightens his grip and picks Lycan up, before dumping him to the ground. Lycan manages to land in guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

That's time! Lycan's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Lycan moves out of range of the strikes.
Cass shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Cass wants to stand but Lycan has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Cass is tying to control. Lycan wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Cass thows a huge punch but Lycan dodges it nicely.
Lycan won't allow Cass to pass to mount.
Lycan is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Cass's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Cass's back!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Cass looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
Lycan has his arm under Cass's chin here. Game over son! Lycan squeezes tightly and Cass is forced to tap out!
