Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
18 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Suleijma Tudekiks! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Allan Coyoca! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Leandro Rodrigues and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tudekiks smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Coyoca rushes Tudekiks and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Coyoca told us before the fight that he's been working on his elbows. An under utilised technique these days - let's see if it can sway the outcome of the fight. Coyoca lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Coyoca throws a head punch that misses. Coyoca doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Tudekiks taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Coyoca misses with a hook to the ribs.
Tudekiks has Coyoca pressed against the cage.
Tudekiks is trying to break free. Tudekiks really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Coyoca lands a right hand that snaps the head of Tudekiks backwards. Tudekiks wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Coyoca struggles to land a body shot inside as Tudekiks controls his hands.
Coyoca's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Tudekiks is trying to break the clinch but Coyoca is controlling him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. An uppercut to the body lands inside from Coyoca. Coyoca lands an elbow inside.
It looks like Suleijma Tudekiks has been cut. Tudekiks taking a breather. Tudekiks lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Coyoca backwards. A short right from Tudekiks. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Coyoca has Tudekiks pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Tudekiks manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Coyoca tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Tudekiks's elbow. Tudekiks managing to block the knees to the body from Coyoca.
Coyoca swings wildly with an uppercut but Tudekiks uses good head movement to avoid it. Coyoca can't find room to land a body shot as Tudekiks controls the action.
Tudekiks has a couple of punches blocked by Coyoca.
Coyoca fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Tudekiks lands with a right to the head. Tudekiks breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Tudekiks throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Coyoca instigates a clinch. Tudekiks pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Tudekiks has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Soul Supremacy Rio in the buildup to the fight. Tudekiks slaps away a takedown attempt from Coyoca, before circling back to the center of the mat. Coyoca doesn't manage to clinch there - Tudekiks circles away.
Allan Coyoca seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Tudekiks keeps the fight on the outside.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Coyoca has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Tudekiks looks to throw the jab but Coyoca is out of range. Coyoca attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! A big right from Tudekiks misses. Tudekiks cracks Coyoca with an open hand slap. Tudekiks takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Tudekiks lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Coyoca circles away quickly and effectively. Coyoca closes the distance and clinches. Coyoca lands with a short head shot on the inside. Coyoca tries to pull guard but Tudekiks forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Suleijma Tudekiks has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Allan Coyoca. Coyoca lands an uppercut.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Coyoca lands a shot to the body. Tudekiks escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Coyoca lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Nice uppercut there from Coyoca. Coyoca tries a head kick but it misses.
Tudekiks throws a big counter combination but Coyoca scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Coyoca scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Coyoca connects with a crisp jab. Coyoca misses with a straight left. Coyoca darts in and clinches Tudekiks up against the cage. Coyoca throws an elbow that misses.
Coyoca is trying to trip Tudekiks. He has hold of a leg but Tudekiks is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Coyoca persists though and gets the takedown into guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Tudekiks is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Coyoca makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Coyoca keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Tudekiks's head. Coyoca passes Tudekiks's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Tudekiks pushes Coyoca off looking to stand but Coyoca dives back in and keeps control.
Coyoca is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Tudekiks has managed to free his arm - good work. Coyoca slips a nice elbow through Tudekiks's hands, connecting with Tudekiks's forehead. Coyoca prevents Tudekiks from standing back up.
Coyoca is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground! Coyoca lands strikes from half guard. Tudekiks looks like he's trying to stand up.
Coyoca drops an elbow to the side of Tudekiks's head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Allan Coyoca dominated that round. The cut man is working on Suleijma Tudekiks's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Coyoca darts in and clinches Tudekiks up against the cage. Coyoca lands a hook to the side of the head. Tudekiks scores with an uppercut up the middle. Coyoca tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Tudekiks's elbow. Allan Coyoca seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far. A nice glancing elbow lands by Coyoca. Coyoca misses with a hook to the ribs.
Coyoca creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Tudekiks's defenses. Coyoca tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Tudekiks is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Coyoca pulls guard successfully.
Tudekiks has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Coyoca to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Tudekiks is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Coyoca pulls down on the head and he's put Tudekiks to sleep! This one is all over!
