Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ambrose Patel! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Quavo Offset! The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Franklyn Lucas and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Offset fails in his attempt to clinch. Offset closes the distance and pushes Patel back into the cage. Patel's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. No luck for Patel with that takedown attempt. Patel shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Offset fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
A chopping leg kick lands by Offset. Patel gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Offset counters with a nice uppercut. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ambrose Patel. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Patel shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Offset napping and manages to drive through into side control! Offset is trying to control Patel's posture but Patel avoids it. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Offset really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Patel. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's one minute gone in the round. Offset bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet! Offset rushes Patel and presses him up against the cage. Offset keeps control of Patel as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Offset breaks from the clinch.
Offset works over Patel's head and body with a nice combination.
It looks like Ambrose Patel has been cut. Offset looks for the body kick but Patel saw that one coming. Offset darts in and clinches Patel up against the cage. Patel wants to break the clinch but can't.
Offset escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Offset darts in and clinches Patel up against the cage. Offset has Patel pressed against the cage, preventing Patel from circling away and getting back to striking at range. The referee is keeping an eye on Patel - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Offset breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Offset doesn't manage to clinch there - Patel circles away.
Patel is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Offset. Offset looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Patel wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Offset scores with a one two! Patel had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Patel is rocked! Patel gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Offset counters with a big slam. Patel looks out but Offset is landing strikes to his unconscious opponent! Eventually the ref steps in to save Patel from any more punishment. A brutal conclusion to the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Slam). Quavo Offset! After winning the bout, Quavo Offset thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
