Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Kerr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Pletees (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Steve Pletees will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kevin Kerr! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Steve Pletees! The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Nard Betker and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pletees shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Kerr manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Kerr looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Pletees puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Pletees missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Kerr trying to control but Pletees postures up.
Pletees misses with a head shot. Kerr uses the momentum to regain guard. Kerr is pulling down on Pletees's head to control his posture. Kerr doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kerr wants to stand and escape but Pletees is having none of it. Kerr looking for a sweep. Not yet Kerr, not yet. Kerr throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Pletees wants to control from the top but Kerr keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pletees looking to pass the guard. Kerr really is a fat lump. Kerr throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Kerr lands with a heel strike from the guard.
Kerr might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Kerr striking from the bottom here. Kerr is looking to stand up but Pletees isn't so interested in that idea.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Pletees throws a leg kick and Kerr counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Pletees pushes Kerr off looking to stand but Kerr dives back in and keeps control.
Kerr seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Kerr is working for a kimura but Pletees is defending it quite comfortably.

Kerr not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Kerr lands a nice short elbow. Pletees regains full guard. Nicely done. Pletees has momentary wrist control but Kerr slips an elbow through the middle. Kerr throws a big elbow that misses. Kerr is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Pletees pushes Kerr off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Pletees fails in his attempt to clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pletees closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Pletees lands in his opponent's guard. Pletees would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Kerr wants to sweep here but Pletees controlling him for the moment. Kerr will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Kerr has his hands on Pletees's head, controlling the position. Kerr wants to sweep but no luck.

Pletees passes Kerr's right leg, so he's now in half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pletees controlling the pace. Kerr looks like he's trying to stand up.
Kerr is trying to maintain the position but Pletees is very close to passing his half guard. Kerr tries to kick Pletees off but Pletees keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Pletees swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Kerr throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Pletees's waist but Pletees gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kerr off to one side. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Steve Pletees will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action!
Pletees keeps Kerr at a distance using the push kick. Pletees shoots in and bounces Kerr off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Kerr wants to get back to his feet but Pletees passes into half guard.
Kerr scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Pletees manages to mount him!

Kerr is trying desperately to improve position. Kerr tries to hold on but Pletees postures up. Pletees looking to control but Kerr is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Kerr is trying to escape the mount.
Pletees wants to control the pace but Kerr is squirming around nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Pletees is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Kerr has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Pletees can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Kerr is looking to escape. Kerr wants to control but Pletees is having none of it. Kerr is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Pletees wants to control but instead Kerr manages to regain half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kerr regains full guard. Nicely done. Pletees trying to control but Kerr is working from the bottom. Kerr lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
Steve Pletees has got the better of the ground game so far. Pletees preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Kerr scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Pletees working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Kerr. Pletees keeping moving, preventing Kerr from controlling successfully. Pletees trying to control the position.
Kerr loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kerr avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Pletees is breathing heavily. Kerr postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Kerr throws a big right hand that misses. Kerr working some strikes from top position. Pletees wants to sweep here but Kerr controlling him for the moment. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Kerr's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Pletees preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Kerr connects with a couple of short punches. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Steve Pletees will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's time! Kerr's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Pletees throws a sloppy head kick and Kerr counters with a single leg into guard. Pletees didn't expect that. Pletees kicks Kerr off and gets to his feet. Pletees throws a low kick but Kerr moves out of range easily. Kerr throws a big counter combination but Pletees scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Pletees drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Kerr managing to control the position. Pletees controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Kerr striking off his back but it's not causing Pletees any problems.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kerr is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Kerr is striking off his back. Pletees thinks nothing of it though and passes easily into half guard. Kerr misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Kerr wants to control but Pletees is keeping busy and won't allow it. Kerr wants to get back to his feet.

Kerr manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Pletees keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage. Pletees's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pletees ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kerr moves away. Kerr lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick. Pletees takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Pletees looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Kerr! Pletees working away. Kerr tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Pletees easily slips into full mount! Kerr is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Kerr tries to hold on but Pletees pushes him away. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Kerr is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kerr regains half guard. Pletees decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Pletees wants to clinch and Kerr decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Pletees's guard. Kerr postures up.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kerr accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Kerr in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Kerr working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Pletees keeping moving, preventing Kerr from controlling successfully. Pletees is looking to stand up but Kerr isn't so interested in that idea. Steve Pletees is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pletees pulls Kerr in close to prevent any damage. Kerr with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Pletees controls Kerr momentarily but Kerr frees himself. Kerr postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Pletees tries to land a sweep but no joy. Kerr is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Kevin Kerr has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Kerr with a flurry of punches that miss.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Steve Pletees. Well Pletees has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
