Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Don Stewart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Uri Haber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Don Stewart!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 8 - 2, fighting out of Helsinki, Uri Haber!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Ian Loll and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Haber checks a leg kick.

Stewart closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Haber to the mat! Haber manages to get full guard.
Stewart advances to half guard.
Stewart not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Haber is looking to improve his position.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Haber is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Stewart pulls his head out easily.

Haber is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Stewart's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Stewart's back!

Haber seems to be going for a rear naked choke. He has an arm under Stewart's chin but Stewart turns very nicely into Haber's guard. Good BJJ skills being displayed there by Stewart.

Stewart is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Haber throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Haber has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Stewart is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Stewart lands with a kick to the temple. Haber shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"


It looks like Uri Haber has been cut.
Haber uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Stewart.
Stewart takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Don Stewart will probably get the nod.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Stewart thows a left - swing and a miss!
Haber throws a low kick but it's checked well by Stewart.
Stewart cracks the inside of Haber's front leg.
Stewart turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Haber throws out a loose jab but Stewart uses good head movement to avoid it.
Donk. Haber catches Stewart right on the button with a cross.

A looping hook to the body misses from Haber. Stewart does a little dance to reset his feet.
Stewart darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

and Haber connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Stewart lands with a nice body punch.
Haber changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Haber connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Stewart's hands.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Stewart fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Haber checks it well.

A quick step to the side and Stewart tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Haber swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Haber waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Stewart.
As Haber backs away, Stewart returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.

Haber gets caught napping as Stewart dives in and scores a takedown. Haber manages to retain guard.

Stewart had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Haber defends it easily.

Haber wants to hit a switch here but Stewart passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Haber there!
Stewart can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Haber is looking to escape.
Haber tries to reverse the position but Stewart maintains control.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Stewart wants to control the pace but Haber is squirming around nicely.

Uri Haber comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Stewart has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

After the fight, Don Stewart was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
