The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Askren rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Mason moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Khabib Askren seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A left and a right from Askren both land. Nice combination.
It looks like Bea Mason has been cut.
Mason tries to clinch but Askren is having none of it.

Askren leaves Mason with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Mason throws a wild hook but Askren just manages to duck under it and - ooooh! Mason gets nailed by a brutal uppercut which crumples him back against the cage! The referee jumps in - Askren raises his hands in celebration and walks away!
