Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Clinton Salazar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jonny Fisk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jonny Fisk has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Clinton Salazar's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Clinton Salazar! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jonny Fisk! The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Tarja Halkonen and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A telegraphed takedown attempt from Fisk is defended easily by Salazar. Fisk shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Salazar pinned against the cage. Salazar gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Fisk tries for a takedown but Salazar sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Clinton Salazar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jonny Fisk. Salazar misses with a kick to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Fisk closes the distance and clinches up with Salazar, looking for a takedown. Fisk pushes Salazar against the cage but Salazar circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Salazar is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Fisk. Some bone on bone action there as Fisk checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Fisk falls off balance throwing a combination
and Salazar counters with a two punch combo.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fisk fails with the takedown. Salazar throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Fisk shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Salazar as he avoids it easily. Fisk clinches with his opponent.
Fisk is trying to force a seperation but Salazar has the dominant position. Salazar stalling the fight.
Fisk pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Fisk forces Salazar back against the cage and clinches. Salazar breaks from the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fisk throws a sloppy head kick and Salazar moves out of range easily. Salazar gets tackled into the cage by Fisk. Fisk maintains the clinch. Fisk is trying to pull guard but Salazar has him pressed against the cage. Fisk manages to break the clinch.
Fisk shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Salazar as he avoids it easily. Salazar appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick. Fisk takes the fight into the clinch. Fisk tries to throw a body punch but Salazar avoids it by throwing Fisk back against the cage. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Salazar as Fisk tries to tie him up. Fisk is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Salazar to keep the fight standing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Salazar escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Fisk fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Salazar misses with a head kick.
Fisk dives in and grabs Salazar's left leg, looking for a takedown. Salazar pushes down on Fisk's head and hops out. Fisk looks winded! Salazar throws a head kick that misses. Salazar misses with a low kick as Fisk jumps back. Salazar throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Fisk forces Salazar back against the cage and clinches. Salazar breaks the clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fisk clinches with his opponent.
Salazar displaying some good clinch control by pressing Fisk up against the cage. Salazar pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Salazar keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Salazar misses with a kick to the body.

Fisk shoots for a takedown but Salazar saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Fisk is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Salazar is controlling him. Fisk has a closed guard, preventing Salazar from standing up. Fisk controls Salazar momentarily but Salazar frees himself. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Salazar is stalling in the full guard. Salazar wanted to stand there but Fisk had control of the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fisk is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Salazar. Fisk is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Salazar is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Fisk can do to turn this around? Fisk lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Salazar circles away quickly and effectively. Fisk has managed to clinch.
Fisk breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Horrible takedown attempt by Salazar or perhaps it was just good defense by Fisk, which made it look bad. Fisk wants to counter with a clinch but Salazar pushes him away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fisk misses with a takedown attempt - Salazar sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Fisk throws a combination that misses and Salazar counters by clinching up. Fisk is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Fisk is breathing heavily. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Salazar's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Fisk has closed the distance and engaged Salazar in a clinch.
Salazar really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Salazar throws a big counter combination but Fisk scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Salazar keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. That's going to take a lot out of Jonny Fisk. Fisk shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Salazar counters by clinching up. Fisk jumps guard but Salazar stands there with Fisk around his waist. Fisk gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

That was a close second round but I would say that Clinton Salazar will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Fisk shoots in but no luck this time. Fisk changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Salazar tries to avoid it but Fisk manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Salazar to the ground. Salazar escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Fisk moves into the clinch. Fisk breaks the clinch.
Fisk closes the distance and clinches up with Salazar, looking for a takedown. Fisk pushes Salazar against the cage but Salazar circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Clinton Salazar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jonny Fisk. Fisk throws a body kick despite being completely out of range and Salazar counters with a single leg into guard. Fisk didn't expect that. Salazar wants to get up but he can't break Fisk's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Salazar working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Fisk's head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Fisk controlling Salazar's posture. Salazar wants to stand but Fisk is controlling his posture from full guard. Fisk takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Salazar seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Salazar wanted to stand there but Fisk had control of the position. Salazar gets to his feet - Fisk follows without any prompting. Jonny Fisk seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Salazar looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Fisk! A lull in the action here. Salazar stands up. Salazar clinches up against the cage. Fisk jumps guard but Salazar turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Fisk has Salazar pressed against the cage, preventing Salazar from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Salazar is pressed up against the cage. Fisk has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Salazar down to the mat. Salazar avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Salazar. Fisk gets a clinch. Salazar wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Salazar is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Fisk's half guard. Fisk has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Salazar is on him like a limpet, forcing Fisk back against the cage. Fisk manages to break the clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fisk looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Salazar is fending him off so far but Fisk persists. Nope, Salazar circles away and we're back to standing. Salazar feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Salazar not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Salazar stands and steps away. Fisk gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Salazar looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

Salazar stays in close to Fisk's body and controls the position. Jonny Fisk has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Clinton Salazar is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Salazar stands up from guard. Let's bang!
And that's the end of the fight! Clinton Salazar showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Salazar, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
