Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Aaron McGinnis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Nordquist (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McGinnis comes to the cage accompanied by Star.One - Original Badman Feat. Takura & Assassin. John Nordquist told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Aaron McGinnis! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, John Nordquist! The judges for this bout are Topper Green, Ben Hemmingworth and Darius Henderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nordquist misses with a double jab
and McGinnis counters with a stiff right hand. A jab from McGinnis misses. A jab from Nordquist misses. Nordquist wants to clinch. McGinnis connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Nordquist momentarily.
McGinnis throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Nordquist stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Nordquist tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but McGinnis was well out of range. Poor timing from Nordquist. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. McGinnis lets loose with a powerful body kick. Nordquist will feel that in the morning. McGinnis dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Nordquist. That did some damage! McGinnis defending well as Nordquist loads up on a big left hand. McGinnis circles away from the clinch attempt and McGinnis counters with a stiff right hand.
That's one minute gone in the round. McGinnis lands a front kick. Nordquist bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. McGinnis does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Nordquist with the counter takedown but McGinnis avoids it easily. Nordquist moves out of range of the leg kick from McGinnis. Nordquist feints the counter takedown. Nordquist staying out of range there. McGinnis throws a hook but Nordquist avoids it easily. McGinnis looks to land a right hand but Nordquist moved out of range. McGinnis moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. McGinnis connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. A good leg kick by McGinnis. Nordquist misses with a shot to the body and McGinnis counters with a nice uppercut.
Nordquist is rocked! McGinnis fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Nordquist to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Nordquist looks to clinch but McGinnis throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Nordquist taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Aaron McGinnis! Aaron McGinnis retains his featherweight title! Our winner, Aaron McGinnis, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
