Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jim Connected (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jez Beltran (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jim Connected ! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jez Beltran! The judges for this bout are Ben Watson, Bruno Hogan and Ron Honeybunn.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Beltran swats away the attempt to clinch by Connected . Connected shoots in looking for a takedown. Beltran tries to sprawl out of it but Connected keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Beltran manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Excellent takedown into side control there by Beltran. Connected wants to get back to his feet but Beltran is dominant here and he's now got Connected 's back! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Beltran looking for the choke but no joy. Beltran throwing damaging strikes from the back! Connected could be in trouble here!
That's one minute gone in the round. You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Connected trying to control the position but Beltran manages to sink in the hooks. Beltran just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
Connected turns into Beltran and is now in his guard.
Beltran wants to get back to his feet but Connected is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Beltran wants to sweep here but Connected controlling him for the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Beltran can do anything to dispel that myth. Connected wants to control from the top but Beltran keeps moving. Connected avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Connected trying to control the position from guard on top but Beltran is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Connected engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Beltran wants to sweep here but Connected controlling him for the moment. Connected slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Beltran. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Beltran is concentrating on defense, preventing Connected from advancing position. Beltran is not content to let Connected control the position. Connected throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Connected wants to control but Beltran is keeping him busy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Connected shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Beltran as he jumps to the side. Beltran falls off balance throwing a combination
and Connected counters with a slapping leg kick. Connected fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Beltran is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jim Connected . That's going to take a lot out of him. Connected lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! A nice leg kick lands there from Connected . Connected shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Beltran defends it nicely. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Jim Connected will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Connected throws a head kick that misses. Connected shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Beltran as he avoids it easily. Connected has taken the fight to the clinch.
Beltran dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage. Beltran's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Connected wants to break free but Beltran has control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Connected keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Beltran's efforts to push away. Beltran pulls guard successfully.
Connected trying to move into half guard but instead Beltran has managed to sweep! Beltran showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Beltran postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Beltran advances to half guard. Connected tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Beltran prevents Connected from improving his position. Beltran content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Connected wants to control but Beltran is keeping busy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Beltran in particular looking to stall. Beltran passes the guard and advances to mount! Connected can't escape the position.
Connected is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. Beltran looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Beltran has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Connected tries to hold on but Beltran pushes him away. Beltran connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Connected is bucking up trying to escape but Beltran cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Beltran avoids the attempt from Connected to control. Beltran looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Beltran lands with some strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Beltran unloading with bombs! Beltran controlling the position easily from mount. Connected wants to hold on but Beltran pushes him away. Beltran looking to control and managing it successfully. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Beltran is continuing to stall. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jez Beltran showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Connected fails to land the takedown. Connected shoots in but no luck this time. No luck with that takedown attempt from Connected . That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jim Connected . That's going to take a lot out of him. Connected moves into the clinch. Connected breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Beltran clinches with his opponent.

Connected goes for a takedown attempt but Beltran pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Beltran looking to score a takedown here. Connected is defending well but Beltran drives through and ends up in Connected 's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Connected has momentary wrist control but Beltran slips an elbow through the middle. Beltran scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Beltran wants to get up but he can't break Connected 's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Beltran is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Connected looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Beltran is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Beltran's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Beltran postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Beltran not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Connected is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Connected closes this distance looking for a takedown but Beltran circles away. Beltran misses with a low kick. Beltran drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Connected sneaks back into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Beltran controlling the pace. Beltran wants to get back to his feet.
Beltran performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Beltran is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Connected trying to control from the bottom.
Beltran controlling the pace. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Connected is looking for a sweep. Beltran is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Connected gets caught flat footed, as Beltran shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Beltran postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
And that's the end of the fight! Jez Beltran comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Beltran has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
