Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Sheldon Russo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ned Higher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ned Higher told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sheldon Russo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ned Higher!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Jorge Garcia and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Higher shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Higher showed some decent athleticism there.
Russo pushes Higher off but Higher dives into side control.
Russo wants to get back to his feet but Higher drags him back down.
Higher decides to stand back up.
Higher cracks the inside of Russo's front leg.
Higher scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Higher tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Higher connects with a high kick.
Higher rushes Russo and presses him up against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Higher tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Russo avoids it.
Higher comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
It looks like Sheldon Russo has been cut.
Higher drags the fight down to the ground.
Russo controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Russo throws a big elbow that misses.
Higher pulls Russo in to control the position.
Russo trying to control but Higher is working from the bottom.
Higher wants to sweep but no luck.
Russo won't allow Higher to get back to his feet.
Russo stays in close to Higher's body and controls the position.
Russo prevents Higher from getting back to his feet.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Oooooh!!! Higher has knocked Russo down with a huge combo! Higher steps away and waves a wobbly Russo back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Russo is rocked!
Higher closes the distance and lands a crisp combination that knocks Russo out cold! Russo corner are devastated, head in hands behind our commentary position. Poor guys.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:15 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Ned Higher!
Ned Higher was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
