Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Lonnie Bonner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Teofil Poplawski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bonner kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Lightning Strikes / The Offspring. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Teofil Poplawski!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, David Hoff and Peter Branson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big left from Bonner misses.

Bonner throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Poplawski decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Poplawski seems to be working for a kimura but Bonner defends the submission attempt.

Poplawski might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Bonner haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Poplawski is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Bonner is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at King Of Pain, so we'll see if he gets out of it.
Poplawski is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Poplawski is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Bonner is just riding it out for now. Poplawski eventually gives up the hold.

Poplawski is nestled in close to Bonner, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Bonner has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Poplawski is working away from the top position though.

Bonner is staying active underneath Poplawski, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Bonner holds on tight, trying to prevent any damage.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Bonner's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Bonner swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Bonner scores with a jab to the jaw.
Bonner throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Bonner lands a right hook to the body.
Bonner lands with a nice body punch.
Bonner misses with a right hand

and Poplawski counters with a shoot takedown. Bonner fights it but they end up in guard.
Poplawski trying to control the position from guard on top but Bonner is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Poplawski has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Poplawski cracks Bonner with a solid left hand.
Bonner keeping moving, preventing Poplawski from controlling successfully.
Poplawski stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bonner swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Poplawski has gone for a leg lock! Bonner slips out almost immediately though and dives into Poplawski's guard.

Bonner is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Poplawski has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Bonner doesn't defend quickly enough and Poplawski has managed to lock this one up! Can Bonner escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Poplawski on a fantastic submission victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:48 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Teofil Poplawski!
