Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Pedro Perrone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeff Hudson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Perrone kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Eye Of The Tiger. The key to victory for Pedro Perrone has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pedro Perrone! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jeff Hudson! The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Joseph Jones and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No luck for Hudson with that takedown attempt. Perrone tries to sprawl but Hudson drives through with a takedown into half guard. Perrone tries to roll over but Hudson keeps him under control. Hudson wants to advance to full mount but Perrone doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. Hudson sitting in guard, not really doing much. Perrone wants to sweep here but Hudson controlling him for the moment. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Perrone is working hard here to advance position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hudson drops back, looking for a kneebar! Perrone looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Perrone looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Perrone! Hudson gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Perrone looking to ground and pound but Hudson is blocking nicely. Hudson is looking to get to half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Perrone sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hudson slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Perrone is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hudson is just riding it out for now. Perrone eventually gives up the hold. Perrone throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Perrone prevents Hudson from improving his position. Hudson moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Perrone preventing the sweep. Perrone throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hudson works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Perrone lands a couple of decent looking shots. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Hudson holds on and takes a little breather. Hudson tries to land a sweep but no joy. Perrone has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Hudson working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Perrone. Perrone stopping the sweep attempt from Hudson. Perrone might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Perrone trying to control the position from guard on top but Hudson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Hudson swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Perrone lands a body shot.
Hudson's coach down at Midnight MMA was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Hudson's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Hudson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Perrone listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Hudson swats away the attempt to clinch by Perrone. Hudson throws a counter combo. Perrone wants to clinch. Perrone stuffs the takedown. Pedro Perrone has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jeff Hudson. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Perrone gets caught napping as Hudson dives in and scores a takedown. Perrone manages to retain guard. Hudson lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Hudson looking to sit in guard and control but Perrone gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

That was a close round but I would say that Pedro Perrone will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Hudson throws a sloppy head kick and Perrone moves out of range easily. Hudson fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Perrone throws a right and a left that both miss. Perrone stuffs the takedown attempt from Hudson. Hudson gets slowly back to his feet. Perrone misses with a head kick.
Hudson unleashes a big counter combination but Perrone bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Perrone displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Hudson. Pedro Perrone has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jeff Hudson. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Perrone shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Hudson but Hudson pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Hudson lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Perrone is not content to let Hudson control the position. Hudson cracks Perrone with an elbow. That is naaassty. Hudson is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Perrone has escaped the position, nice work there. Hudson lands a few punches from side control. Hudson wants to control but Perrone is keeping him busy. Hudson working the head and body with strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hudson swings around for an armbar but Perrone sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Hudson's guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Perrone loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Hudson wants to stand but Perrone is controlling the position. Hudson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Perrone's guard. Hudson postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Perrone is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Hudson is aware though and is defending well. Hudson lands a couple of elbows. Hudson postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Hudson trying to control but Perrone is working from the bottom. Hudson wants to pass the guard but Perrone is keeping the position. Perrone working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Hudson. Perrone is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Hudson lands a couple of decent looking shots. Hudson works over Perrone with some ground and pound from guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Hudson is working Perrone over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Hudson cracks Perrone with a solid left hand. Hudson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Perrone has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hudson has managed to get both his arms back between Perrone's legs - danger averted. Hudson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Hudson lands a couple of elbows. Perrone trying to control the position.

Jeff Hudson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Perrone throws a right hand that Hudson ducks under and follows up with a left that Hudson also avoids with ease. Perrone shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Hudson goes for a double leg but Perrone avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Perrone continues to drive forward. Perrone went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Hudson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Perrone's waist but Perrone gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hudson off to one side. Perrone looks to clinch and Hudson counters with a single leg into guard. Perrone didn't expect that. Hudson drops back, looking for a kneebar! Perrone looks panicked! Hudson is adopting a defensive guard. Hudson keeping moving, preventing Perrone from controlling successfully. Hudson wants to get back to his feet but Perrone is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Hudson has control of Perrone's left arm, preventing Perrone from doing any damage. Hudson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Perrone defends it easily.

Hudson wants to stand up but Perrone is controlling him. Perrone is fighting to break Hudson's control of his arms but Hudson is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Hudson with a lazy takedown attempt and Perrone counters with a left to the body. Pedro Perrone has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jeff Hudson. Hudson manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Perrone on his heels. He'll look to pass Perrone's guard now, I'm sure. Perrone working for a triangle but Hudson defends it easily.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Pedro Perrone. I think Perrone has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
