Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Traian Basescu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anthony Boss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Basescu might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Numb. Boss has a pretty significant injury - he really shouldn't be fighting right now but he's a warrior and he's here none the less! Anthony Boss told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Shigeki Sano and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boss stuffs the takedown.
Boss looks gassed!
Basescu fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Basescu misses with a takedown attempt - Boss sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Traian Basescu. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Boss stuffs the takedown attempt from Basescu. Basescu gets slowly back to his feet.

Basescu tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Boss swivels and escapes.
Basescu closes this distance looking for a takedown but Boss circles away.
Basescu fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Basescu.
The fight moves into the clinch position.

Basescu tries to pull guard but Boss won't allow it.

Basescu tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Boss is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Basescu is keeping busy.

Basescu has Boss pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Boss manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Boss has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Basescu regains guard immediately.
Basescu working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Boss doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Boss manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Basescu looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Boss is posturing up here but Basescu has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Boss tries to roll out but it's too tight and Boss has to tap! Slick submission there by Basescu!
