Coming up we have a light heavyweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Brick Tamland and Marcelo Aurelio. Marcelo Aurelio told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the light heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. And in the blue corner, fighting out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Marcelo Aurelio! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Daniel Franklin and Tiny Johnson.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Aurelio tries to score a power double leg takedown but Tamland sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Aurelio somewhat. Tamland is trying hard to land a takedown here. Aurelio sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Tamland shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Aurelio's guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Tamland (2) vs (0) Aurelio Tamland is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Tamland has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage. Aurelio bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Tamland is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. I've been told that Aurelio has been drilling his wrestling of late, which has already helped him take this fight to the mat. Let's see how much of an impact it has on the outcome of the ground game. Aurelio wants to control from the top but Tamland keeps moving.

He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Aurelio rolls with it to try and escape but Tamland cranks on the arm and Aurelio is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
