Coming up we have a light heavyweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Joe Maddox and Steven Shatiko. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the light heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Joe Maddox! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Tokyo, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Steven Shatiko!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Hirohito Nitta and Taro Takaoka.


The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Shatiko swats away the attempt to clinch by Maddox.

Maddox takes the fight into the clinch.
Maddox is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Maddox tries for a takedown but Shatiko manages to get underhooks.
Shatiko jumps guard but Maddox stands there with Shatiko around his waist. Shatiko gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Shatiko is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Maddox closes the distance and clinches.
Shatiko fails to pull guard.
Shatiko stops a takedown attempt from Maddox.
Shatiko tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Shatiko is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Shatiko drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Maddox is looking to take this one to the mat.
Maddox is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Shatiko pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Maddox can't get the takedown.
Maddox is pressed up against the cage. Shatiko has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Maddox down to the mat. Maddox avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Maddox tries to clinch there but Shatiko circles away.
Maddox tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Shatiko manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Shatiko.

Shatiko is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Maddox knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Shatiko is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Maddox has escaped the position, nice work there.

Shatiko is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Maddox is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Shatiko looking to secure an arm triangle but Maddox defends it well.
Shatiko moves to the back position.

Maddox might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Shatiko has the hooks in. Maddox is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Shatiko slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Maddox knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Shatiko on the ground.

Maddox defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Shatiko's arms.

Maddox is trying to defend against the choke here but Shatiko has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Shatiko Tightens the hold and Maddox taps out furiously! Shatiko displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
