25 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sam Snead! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Yves DeLean and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A telegraphed right hand from Snead misses the target. Garfunkel bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Garfunkel ducks right into an uppercut from Snead.
It looks like Frank Garfunkel has been cut. Snead takes one to the chin there. Snead has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Garfunkel fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Snead has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Garfunkel is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Snead has managed to free his arm - good work. Garfunkel wants to lay and pray for a moment but Snead keeps working. Garfunkel not landing any meaningful shots this time. Garfunkel is thwarting Snead's attempts to control the position. Garfunkel is nestled in close to Snead, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Garfunkel's corner is telling him to maintain position. Snead wants to stand but Garfunkel is controlling the position. Garfunkel works a leg free and moves into half guard. Snead is trying to maintain the position but Garfunkel is very close to passing his half guard. Nice strikes from Garfunkel there. Snead keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Garfunkel thows a huge punch but Snead dodges it nicely.
