Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Vitor Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sevelindo Pegando (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Vitor Alves! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sevelindo Pegando! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Trevor Gratis and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pegando tries to clinch up but Alves circles away and keeps his distance. Pegando tries to clinch but Alves is having none of it. Alves closes the distance looking to clinch and Pegando counters with a shoot takedown. Alves fights it but they end up in guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pegando wants to get up but he can't break Alves's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Pegando avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Alves is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Alves throws his legs up looking for a submission but Pegando uses it to pass to side control.
Alves is looking for a sweep. Pegando trying to control the action but Alves is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alves sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Alves looking for submissions off his back. Alves actively working from the bottom here. Alves is breathing heavily. Pegando is keen to just control but Alves is a slippery customer. Pegando seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Pegando tries to clinch up and Alves counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Pegando wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Pegando drops down looking for an ankle pick but Alves pulls his leg out and moves away.
Pegando looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Alves! A nice elbow there by Pegando. Alves is in all sorts of trouble here.
Alves is working hard here to advance position. Alves is trying to reverse the position but instead Pegando has taken his back - oops! Pegando trying to control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pegando has the hooks in. Alves is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. Pegando is punishing Alves with strikes - can he finish him?! Pegando controls the position. Alves staying busy and making it hard for Pegando to control. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Alves breaks Pegando's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Pegando bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Alves's guard. Alves looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Alves throws his legs up looking for a submission but Pegando uses it to pass to side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pegando tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Alves tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Pegando wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Alves is trying to escape the position but Pegando is controlling the position. Alves sneaks back into half guard. Pegando trying to control the pace. Alves manages to get to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sevelindo Pegando dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Alves tries to clinch there but Pegando circles away.
Alves misses with a takedown attempt and Pegando counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Pegando shoots and misses and Alves counters with a nice double leg into guard. Pegando is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Alves drops back, looking for a kneebar! Pegando looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Pegando looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Pegando! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Pegando working the head and body with strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alves looking for a sweep but Pegando has passed into full mount! Oh no! Pegando postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Alves looks a forlorn figure.
Alves tries to get back to half guard but can't. Pegando cracks Alves with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Alves is looking to improve his position but Pegando isn't that keen on the idea. Alves looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Alves defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Pegando's arms. Pegando is persistently looking for the submission but Alves is defending it well.
Pegando has the hooks in. Alves is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. Alves manages to reverse the position and now he's in Pegando's guard. Nice work there by Alves.
Sevelindo Pegando has got the better of the ground game so far. Alves is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Pegando is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Pegando has escaped and now he's on top! Alves looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Pegando passes into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Alves actively working from the bottom here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pegando trying to control from half guard but Alves is working away. Well, if Pegando is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

That was a close second round but I would say that Vitor Alves will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Pegando misses the body punch and Alves counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Alves. Pegando escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Pegando. An elbow from Pegando crashes against the mat.
Alves tries to buck Pegando off but Pegando is having none of it. Pegando decides to stand back up. Pegando steps back and let's Alves get back to his feet. Vitor Alves is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Pegando wants to clinch up but Alves keeps it at a distance. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Pegando tries to clinch up and Alves holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pegando is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Alves unloads a knee to the mid-section. Pegando lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. A battle for position here, against the cage. Alves blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Alves. Pegando jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Alves walks away with a smile on his face. Pegando gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Nice sprawl there from Pegando as Alves shoots in. Pegando tries to clinch but fails miserably and Alves counters with a head kick. That will keep Pegando thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Pegando throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Pegando bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Pegando tries to move to mount but Alves blocks the move with his legs. Alves is not content to let Pegando control the position. Alves tries to improve position but can't.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pegando gets to mount! Alves was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. Pegando scores with a couple of good head shots there.

Pegando doesn't have the hooks in and Alves manages to turn into his guard.
Alves trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Pegando is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Alves postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Pegando is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Alves, into his guard. Pegando with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Alves had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Pegando is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Alves Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Pegando's back instead. Alves not allowing Pegando to control his hands. Alves patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here? Alves working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet. Alves is trying to stick to Pegando's back but Pegando is turning into Alves. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Alves's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Pegando.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Sevelindo Pegando. I think Pegando has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
