Coming up we have a light heavyweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Brandon Hale and Bastien Harris. Hale comes to the cage accompanied by Dead Sara - Weatherman. The crowd seem to be enjoying Harris's choice of entrance music: Du Hast. Man, I cannot wait for this one!
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the light heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of London, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 0 losses; Brandon Hale! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 7 wins and 1 losses; Bastien Harris! The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Kenichi Hosakawa and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Harris has Hale up against the cage in a clinch.

Harris has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Hale uses from the top position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Harris keeping full guard, as Hale tries to pass. Hale has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Hale is fighting to break Harris's control of his arms but Harris is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Hale trying to control the position from guard on top but Harris is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Harris has control of Hale's left arm, preventing Hale from doing any damage.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hale has his foot on Harris's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Harris works his way back into a safe position though. Hale wants to sweep but no luck. Harris pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hale is keeping the position for now. Hale looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Harris passes into side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Hale tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Harris wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Hale is working hard here to advance position. Hale can't do much from the bottom here. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Hale stops Harris from passing to mount. Hale is trying to control Harris's posture but Harris avoids it.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Let's hope that Harris has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Hale tries to bench press Harris off him but Harris keeps the position. Harris moves into full mount! That's five minutes gone in the round. Hale is trying desperately to improve position. Harris wants to take Hale's back here but Hale is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.

That's seven minutes gone in the round. Hale regains half guard. Hale looking for submissions off his back. Hale regains full guard. Nicely done. Hale tries to land a sweep but no joy. Hale is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Harris defends well. My spies in White Lotus inform me that Harris has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

That's nine minutes gone in the round. Hale tries to land a sweep but no joy. Harris controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Hale not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Hale is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Harris seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Hale seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Harris does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Harris is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Hale is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
That's thirteen minutes gone in the round. Harris is pressing down on Hale's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Harris pulls Hale in close to prevent any damage. Hale advances to half guard.
